Yesterday was my sister's birthday.  She was really busy working and didn't have time to go out to eat.  I asked her if she would like me to buy something http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com for her, and she said that she was ok with anything.  Since I had to go to school for a meeting, I went across the street to The Hub Cafe to get her a Taiwanese birthday lunch.

鹽酥雞 Fried Chicken ($4.99)

The Hub Cafe has a 3 course meal special.  One appetizer, one main rice dish, and one cake for $11.99.  I got 3 of the special.  For the appetizer, I got 2 orders of Fried Chicken.  I like their Fried Chicken because it had basil in it.  Everybody enjoyed the Fried Chicken.

雙色炸豆腐 Fried Tofu ($4.99)

Fried Tofu came with two dipping sauces:  garlic soy and sweet and spicy chili.  I like mixing the two sauces together.  The tofu was really soft, and pretty good.  My sister liked it a lot.

台式滷豬排飯 Simmered Pork Chop Pot Rice ($6.99)

I had the Simmered Pork Chop Pot Rice before.  It came in a stone pot when dining in.  The to-go one wasn't as special, but just as good.  The pork chop was tender and thick.  My family thought it was really good.

香煎雞排鍋飯 Grilled Chicken Pot Rice ($6.99)

Mom liked Grilled Chicken Pot Rice because the chicken wasn't too sweet.  She said that restaurants often make it too sweet for her taste, but this one was tender with the perfect amount of seasoning.

咖哩雞鍋飯 Chicken Curry Pot Rice ($5.99)

Chicken Curry Pot Rice came in two packages.  A bowl of curry chicken and a box of rice with vegetable.  The curry was ok.  I think my mom's version is much better.  There were potato, carrot, onion, and chicken in it.  There weren't too much chicken, only a few pieces.  I probably won't get this one again.

巧克力蛋糕 Tri-Chocolate Triangle ($4.99)

The lady worked there said their Tri-Chocolate Triangle is the best dessert.  She was right.  The cake was really good.  I love the rice crispy bottom layer.  The crunchiness was perfect with the smooth creamy chocolate layers on top.

草莓蛋糕 Hub's Strawberry Triangle ($4.99)

When I opened the box for Hub's Strawberry Triangle, I was surprised to see the little strawberry thinging on top.  They looked almost toy-like.  But those were actually white chocolate.  The cake was good, but a little bit too sweet though.

覆盆子蛋糕 Hub's Raspberry Triangle ($4.99)

Hub's Raspberry Triangle tasted kinda like the strawberry one.  This one wasn't too special.  We all liked the chocolate one the best.

The total bill came to about $40.  It was a little pricey for Taiwanese food, but the quality was great, and portion was big.  My family was happy with the food.  As long as my sister enjoyed the food, that's all it matters.  Happy birthday, Angie!
