Bunless Turkey Burger

I love going out to eat, especially after we move into a new town.  It's just so fun exploring and finding new places to eat.  But after looking over our monthly budget, I realize maybe we can't really afford to eat out so much.  So I vowed to start cooking more at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com this month.

Tonight's dinner was bunless turkey burger (although you can hardly see the turkey burger in the picture haha).  You get all the stuffs on a burger, just without the bread.  On the side were Cole slaw and oven fries.  It's fast, easy, and healthy, too.

Ingredients were turkey burger patties, onion, tomato, avocado, Cole slaw, and frozen oven fries.  Dinner takes about 20 minutes to put together (only because the fries take about 20 minutes to cook in the oven).

(1)  Cook frozen oven fries in the oven.  450 degree for about 20 minutes.
(2) Season turkey burger patties with salt and pepper.  (But I did it with grill seasoning since we had some at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com.)  Cook until done, about 3~4 minutes per side.
(3)  While the turkey is cooking, start slicing the vegetable.  (And don't slice your finger like I did today....)
(4)  Top cooked turkey burger with sliced onion, tomato, and avocado.
(5)  Complete meal with Cole slaw and oven fries.

Cost:
Cole Slaw  $2.49  (Used about 1/4 ~ $0.60)
Avocado x 4  $2.89  (Used 1 ~ $0.75)
Tomato x 4  $1.48  (Used 1 ~ $0.40)
Red Onion x 3  $1.52  (Used 1/2 ~ $0.25)
Turkey Burger  $2.90  (Used 1/2 ~ $1.45)
Oven Fries  $2.50  (Used 1/4 ~ $0.60)

Total:  $2.00 per serving

I hope by showing the stuffs I cook will give people some inspiration.  I also hope by writing down the steps of how I cook the food can show how easy it is to make simple (and delicious + healthy) meal at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com.  And by showing the cost, I hope people realize how cheap it is to cook at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com.
