[Costa Rica Honeymoon] [Day 8] San Jose International Airport (Juan Santamaria)

Our flight http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com was at 5:20pm. But there were other people in our tour group who had earlier flights. So we still got on the bus at 7am and got to the airport around noon.

There's a small food court in the airport.  This was our only food option.

A Whopper here is $8, and it isn't even a meal.

A small refrigerated sub sandwich, like the kind you can find at 7-Eleven, is $12 here.

Church's Chicken Meal ($13.00)

Everything was SOOOOO expensive, but we still gotta eat.  We wanted to save money, and just shared one Church's Chicken 3 pieces meal.  Yup, just that, it was $13!  The food was pretty standard.  Not bad, just wayyyyy overpriced.

Papa John's Calzone ($10.00)

And of course we got hungry again around 3pm.  Still, too expensive to get two items, so we just shared one $10 Calzone from Papa John's.

It was cheese and ham calzone.  I don't know if it was because I was super hungry, or the calzone was really that good.

If I ever go to San Jose International Airport again, I will definitely pack my own food.  The price here is even more expensive than American airport!

  1. Geez, can't believe how early you guys had to get to the airport!

I know! But we had fun playing cards with the other people from the tour group.
