After we came back from honeymoon in Costa Rica, Dr. P was dying to have some Chinese spicy food.  We headed to our favorite Chong Qing Mei Wei in Irvine to serve the craving.


風味冷菜 Cold Appetizer ($5.50)

I love the spicy kidney with sliced onion cold dish.  Can never get enough of it.  The spicy beef and tendon and green veggies were great as usual.



水煮牛魚 Boiled Beef and Fish with Hot Sauce ($10.99)

Of course Dr. P has to order his Boiled Beef and Fish with Hot Sauce.  I asked him if he'll ever get tired of eating the same dish every time.  His answer, NEVER!


孜然羊肉 Stir Fried Lamb with Cumin ($10.99)

Stir Fried Lamb with Cumin is slowly becoming one of those dishes that Dr. P HAS to order every single time.  This dish is full of flavor.  I like cumin a lot.


酸菜大腸 Intestine with Pickled Vegetable

I wanted to try their new intestine dish, Intestine with Pickled Vegetable.  Well, honestly, I didn't like it that much.  The pickled vegetable was pretty sour and salty, and came in really big pieces.  I think I was expecting more like the Taiwanese style of this dish, but it looked and tasted a little different.  Probably won't order this one again.

On this visit, our waiter told me he found my blog!  After visiting the restaurant for over a year, and writing numerous posts about the place, he found me.  Now I am all shy when I go back to the restaurant.  haha....
