We woke up in the early afternoon after our morning nap.  Time to go out to find some food.

At first we wanted to take the bus into another part of town.  But while we were waiting for the bus, it started to drizzled.  We didn't know if a storm was coming or not, and decided to just stay near the hotel.

Since El Avion is right across the street from the bus stop, we just went in there for lunch.  This restaurant was built in, on, and around a real airplane.  If you are interested, read more about El Avion's history HERE.

Ocean view seating again!  Nice!!

Coconut Margarita (CR$2,900) (US$5.80)

Dr. P ordered a very manly drink, Coconut Margarita.  He thought if he made a very manly expression, this drink would look even more manly.  haha....  We didn't like the margarita.  It was wayyyyyy too sweet, and we barely tasted any alcohol.

Mahi Mahi Sandwich (CR$4,800) (US$9.60)
Grilled mahi mahi filet, tomato, lettuce, onions, pickles & http://www.eileenlikestoeat.commade bread with french fries

Our tour guide mantioned the Mahi Mahi Sandwich from El Avion is really good when our tour bus drove by the restaurant.  So Dr. P decided to try that.

Just by looking at it, the mahi mahi sandwich really wasn't anything special.  It was just a few pieces of grilled mahi mahi inside some bread with simple lettuce and tomato.  But for some reason, the sandwich was super delicious.  The mahi mahi was grilled and seasoned perfectly.  I think when seafood is fresh, it just tastes good.

El Avion Rice (CR$5,500) (US$11.00)
Local shell fish & shrimp, chicken mushrooms, onion, bell pepper, leek, scailions, carrots, green beans, green peas, corn & coriander with house salad

I ordered El Avion Rice.  It was pretty much a combination fried rice with seafood, chicken, and vegetable.  Simply delicious.  We also had enough leftover for dinner in our room.

We fell in love with Lizano Salsa in Costa Rica.  I have never seen this salsa in the States.  So we ended up buying a few bottles http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com.

Great food, and nice service.  I seriously love every Costa Rican restaurants we went to.

*heart*

After lunch, we walked around the restaurant a bit.  They actually converted the inside cabin of the plane into a bar.

From inside the plane/bar looking out.

This was very cool to see.

Dr. P took a picture in front of the airplane.

And another one on the side.

We like this restaurant.  The food was good, and it was a lot of fun looking at the air craft.
