Teddy & Twinkle's First Day Home

We have been talking about getting a dog for the longest time. Our apartment in Irvine didn't allow dogs. We finally moved into a townhouse with a patio in July. We talked about getting a dog after returning from our honeymoon ever since we moved in.  At first Dr. P was thinking about buying a dog from a breeder.  He had a great Labrador, Buddy, who he bought from a breeder many years ago.  Buddy was such a good dog that Dr. P thought about getting another Labrador from the breeder.  But I was leaning toward adopting.  I mean, there are already so many dogs needing http://www.eileenlikestoeat.coms.  Why spend money to buy when you can just adopt?



I saw Teddy on Petfinder.com, and immediately fell in love with him.  The adopting agency was called Pooch Match.  We found out there would be an adoption event at Petco in Huntington Beach where Teddy would be at.  We filled out an adoption application online, and got a very excited response back.  Yes!  We were approved!  The adoption event started at 11am.  We arrived at 10:30am because we didn't want anybody snatching Teddy before we did.  haha...  There he was!  Our little Teddy.  He was even cuter in person than his picture that we saw online.  In the picture with Teddy here was one of his sister, Tootsie.




Even though we were the first one there, there were too many people who wanted Teddy from the online application Pooch Match received.  So the lady said that she had to be fair, and wait for everybody then she would make a decision.  We had our little interview with them, and patiently waited for other potential parents to arrive.  While waiting, we saw Teddy's siblings getting adopted.  Teddy's brother and sisters are all sooooo cute.  This little one is Tigger.  We actually ran into Ceasar (his new name) and his mom at the animal hospital.  We are planning for future playdates with cute little Ceasar.



This is Teddy's teeny tiny sister, Teeny Tiny.  She's so little and so adorable!



Besides dogs, there were also lots of kitty looking for mommies inside Petco.  This big bangle cat is beautiful.  And I thought bangle cats are expensive?



After waiting for hours and hours, we finally became Teddy's proud parents around 3pm.  Yes, we beat all the competitors.  Woohoo!!!!  But wait, who was the other little girl?  So after we got Teddy, Twinkle was the only one left in this litter who had not been adopted.  She was looking so sad and lonely all by herself.  It wasn't a difficult decision at all seeing how cute she is.  We told Pooch Match lady right away, we will take Twinkle as well!  (Please ignore my fat double chin, fat arm, and fat stomach.  I just got back from our honeymoon and ate way too much in Costa Rica.  haha....)

Aren't they adorable?  For anyone who's looking to get a pet, I highly recommend adopting.  I really like this agency, Pooch Match.  They are pretty selective but that's only because they want to make sure their dogs all go to a good http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com with people who will love them.  The adoption fee is $425 per dog, which includes deworming, all the vaccinations, neuter/spay, and microchip.  Petfinder.com is a great website to find a pet.  There will be a lot more Teddy and Twinkle to come....  :-)
