Breakfast was included everyday at Hotel Fonda Vela.  Breakfast was served at a bigger dining room, Galleria.

We had some company with us for breakfast.  haha...  The statues were starring at us while we ate.

Huevos a la ranchera ($5.00)
Two fried eggs and ham slices covered with a spicy tomato sauce.

Dr. P ordered Huevos a al ranchera.  Two perfectly fried eggs on top of tortilla.  The ham and tomato sauce was SPICY!  It was also kinda sweet.  It tasted very different than the Mexican version of Huevos ranchero.

Tipico: gallo pinto con huevos, queso y platano ($5.00)
Typical Costa Rican Breakfast: rice and beans with eggs, cheese and plantain

I ordered a Tipico breakfast.  Eggs, cheese, rice and bean, and plantain.  I loved everything on my plate.  When I was in Costa Rica, I have to have coffee and rice & bean every meal!

Nothing to complain here.  Everything tasted delicious.  Service was super fast, too.  Oh and free OJ and coffee with breakfast.  Yum yum!

  1. the rice and bean look so nice! and it's hard to find the combination of breakfast like the tipico in LA, a little bit of everything!

I know! I was full, satisfied, and didn't feel so heavy.
American breakfast of bacon, sausage, potatoes, bread, butter makes me become sleepy again after eating. haha...
