We stayed at Hotel Fonda Vela in Monteverde for 2 nights.  We love this hotel.  The staffs were all very friendly and helpful.  The surrounding is beautiful.  We heard the birds and insects singing all day all night long.  Just love it!

As we were checking in our room, the front desk clerk asked us how come we arrived one day late.  We told him the whole story about how we missed our flight, and how we just got married so everything was so hectic and we couldn't thinking straight.  He congratulated us for being newly weds, and totally hooked us up with the nicest suite they have.  The room was HUGE!

I don't know why the picture came out so blurry.  I must still be carsick from the bumpy ride to the hotel.

Free Costa Rica coffee in the room everyday.  Nice!

Big bathtub in the bathroom.

View from our balcony.  We could see the jacuzzi and the pool, as well as beautiful mountain and sky.  It rained in Costa Rica almost every night.  We could see very bright lightening here also.  We sat on the balcony just to relax with all the little insect visitors.  There were sooooooooo many bugs in Costa Rica.  Actually we didn't really mind them.  They didn't come bother us, so we just left them alone.

I really like the idea of eco-tourism.  There are signs in the room asking us to conserve water use, turn off the light when we leave the room, re-use the towel, and there were 3 recycling trash cans inside the room.

We stayed at 3 different hotels, and Hotel Fonda Vela is definitely our favorite.  For people visiting Cloud Forest, I would highly recommend staying at Hotel Fonda Vela.

  1. Feels very wilderness like! Room looks so fitting with the surroundings nearby.

You can adjust ISO if you want so that when in the dark your photos don't become so blurry as the shutter speed becomes faster...but with some cameras adjusting this takes too much time!

ISO? I'll have to figure out how to do that.
I always set my camera to auto and just click & shoot. haha...

  2. Yeah, most point and shoot cameras just do Auto, I used to do that too with my camera. Maybe you might put it in one the scene modes, less tinkering needed. :)

I really need to figure out how to use my camera better to take better pictures. haha...
