Dr. P loves beef noodle soup, and I love pork chop rice.  So we just had beef noodle soup and pork chop rice at A&J restaurant.  Two days later, we went to Guppy house just to have the same things again!  This was our second visit to Guppy House.  We ordered exactly the same thing the first time, but I forgot to bring my camera that time.  This place is always packed with young kids at night time.  The only time to get a table without waiting was to go for lunch.

鹽酥雞 Popcorn Chicken ($5.50)
Small pieces of nugget chicken flavored with pepper, garlic, and spices.

We ordered Popcorn Chicken for appetizer.  I forgot to snapped a picture, so this picture was actually a half-eaten order.  The chicken was ok good, not great but acceptable.  It was kinda dry for my taste, but the flavor was good.

紅燒牛肉麵 Beef Stew Noodle ($7.99)
Large chunks of tender beef stewed in sensational beef broth.

I like Guppy's House's Beef Stew Noodle a lot, eve a little bit more than A&J's.  Their beef broth was spicy and flavorful.  Their beef was not tender though.  I wish I can just order Beef Stew "Soup" Noodle without the beef.  The price is higher here, but portion is also bigger.

排骨飯 Deep Fried Pork Chop w/ Rice ($8.25)
Crispy pork cutlet with meat sauce.

One thing I love about writing my blog is that I can remember the food I ate and if I like it or not.  I guess I didn't write it down after our first visit so I forgot about if I like the pork chop rice or not.  I took a bite of the pork chop, then remembered I didn't like it that much the first time.  So why did I order it again?  Hmmmm that's still a mystery.  haha....  The pork chop was deep fried and kinda dry.  The meat sauce on top of the rice wasn't all that good.  The side dishes of cucumber, corn, and gluten (烤麩) were all cold.  And this plate cost $8.25!  This gotta be the most expensive pork chop rice!

I don't like the pork chop at Guppy House, but I would definitely go back for their beef noodle soup again.  I saw a lot of people ordering their giant slushy ice.  I was so tempted to order one, but I don't think 2 people can finish that.  They also have a $20 combo special for popcorn chicken + thick toast + strawberry slushy ice.  It's a bit expensive, but the portion should be enough for 4 people.  Maybe we should get that for afternoon tea one day?
