We went back to Sushi Gen again.  Just couldn't get enough of their sashimi.  Last time I forgot to bring my camera.  This time I made sure I had it in my purse so I can take good pictures of the sashimi then look at it at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com and drool later.

We got to the restaurant at 10:45am.  The restaurant opens at 11:15am.  Why did we go there so early?

That's why!  Just look at that line.  If you get there after 11:00am, you might not be able to make it to the first seating.

Second appetizer was tofu in a light stew sauce.  I even got a big piece of stewed pork in my tofu.

Ahhhh.... the sashimi we've been craving for.  Just like before, fresh, delicious, and a lot of food.  Everything on the plate was wonderful.

My grilled fish came with appetizer size sashimi.  7 big pieces of fish.  Yum.

Grilled Kampachi Head ($15.00)

I don't remember where I heard this before, but eating fish head is supposed to make you smart.  I had 2 midterms coming up.  So I ordered the grilled kampachi head hoping it would help me get A's on my tests.  The giant fish head looked a little scary on the plate.  But I really want to get stright A's for my classes.  ^^

Suprisingly there were lots of soft tender meat inside the head.  Well, actually behind the head in the fin area.  The meat was softer than the meat from the fish body I think.  I really like it.  There were also marinated fish flakes, egg, crag and squid.

Dipping Sauce

This was that dipping sauce I absolutely LOVE (forgot to take a picture before, so it was the after picture).  Ponzu with grated daikon and green onion.  So good with fish and rice.

Delicious delicious delicous lunch.  Did I mention it was delicious?  We will for sure be back to Sushi Gen again soon.

  2. Last time we went, we couldn't get in the 1st seating and we didn't want to wait for an hour, ended up sitting at the sushi bar.

I heard you can't order lunch special if sitting at the sushi bar.
Is it true? How is their regular sushi?

You can park in their parking lot.
    With validation, it's only $1.50.

  6. I work close to little tokyo, if you don't mind walk about 5-7 minutes, you can park at Santa Fe Ave, between 2nd and 3rd St, lot of free parking and then walk to Sushi Gen, I parked there every morning, hope that helps lol

Sushi Gen parking lot only cost $1.50.
But I guess free parking & a little exercise is even better. ^^

  8. My coworker recommend Sushi Go 55 inside that 3-sty shopping mall in J-town for lunch. He said the $15 Chirashi lunch there is so worth the money! There's no 30-minute wait time either. Check out the review on Yelp, too. Seems pretty positive.
