We finally went back to Sushi Gen for their lunch special for the second time.  We showed up at the door at 10:45am to wait in line in order to get in the door at 11:15am when the restaurant opened.  I was too excited when leaving the house and forgot to bring my camera.  So the photos were taken by my cell phone.

Miso Soup, Sunomono and Tofu

Three of us ordered three different set of lunch special.  We all got a bowl of steamy hot miso soup.  Two of the lunch special came with sunomono and tofu in a warm soy broth.  I like this tofu dish a lot.  Last year they also had a seaweed salad dish.  But no more seaweed this year.  Well, at least they didn't raise the price.

Muzuku with Nagaimo

Dr. Park ordered the Deluxe Sushi Combo and had better appetizers.  The first one was Muzuku with Nagaimo.  Muzuku is sticky seaweed that tastes a bit pickled.  With grated nagaimo, the whole dish was sticky and slimy.  It was one healthy dish and very good.

Salmon Skin Salad

Dr. Park also got a salmon skin salad.  This salad was fresh and good, but nothing special about it though.

Sushi Deluxe Combination ($21.00)

Dr. Park was in the mood to have sushi more than sashimi.  The sushi deluxe had 9 pieces of sushi with 3 salmon rolls and 3 cucumber rolls.  The fish was fresh and they gave you really big cut.  But after having the sushi, we all thought the sashimi was a better deal.

Sashimi ($15.00)

Dr. Park's brother ordered the sashimi.  It was just as good as last time.  They gave you so much food.  It also came with unlimited rice.  Henry had 3 bowls!

Sashimi Appetizer

I ordered salmon and sashimi combo.  The sashimi was appetizer size.  It had tuna, yellowtail and another kind of fish that I didn't know what it was.  All the pieces were melt-in-your- mouth kind of good.

Grilled Salmon Collar ($15.00)

My salmon collar was made to order.  So it took about 20 minutes for them to grill it.  It was grilled perfectly.  It came with ponzu sauce and I LOVE ponzu sauce.  Finished my whole bowl of rice with salmon dipping in tons of ponzu sauce.

Delicious lunch!  I would recommend sticking with sashimi.  The lunch special sushi wasn't that special.  By the way, green tea cost $1.50 now.  I want to go back for more sashimi already!

They also have cooked lunch special, such as grilled fish, teriyaki beef, chicken and that sort.
