I was so hungry after school one day.  I was in the mood for some Mexican food.  Looking at the Entertainment Book in my car, I found a buy 1 entree get 1 free coupon for La Parrilla Restaurant and it should be on my way http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com.

The restaurant looks pretty big from outside.  They have those you can't look in but only look out kind of window.  So I couldn't really see if there were people inside or not.

La Parrilla Restaurant by you.

It was about 4:30pm in the afternoon.  They were a lot of people in there for happy hour.  I think the restaurant might be celebrating their 30 years anniversary so they have those colorful 30 decorations everywhere.  A very friendly and cheerful lady took my to-go order.  Food came out super fast, too.  I wouldn't exactly call this lady "young".  She was wearing a cute Mexican dress with super duper mini skirt.  I guess that's also considered as "good service", right?!

Salsa & Chips @ La Parrilla Restaurant by you.
Salsa & Chips

A bagful of chips with 2 kinds of salsa.  Their salsa is spicy and so good.  My dad couldn't get enough of the salsa.

2 orders also came with 2 soup.  It was vegetable and lentil soup.  Mom and I both like the soup a lot.

Enchiladas Suizas @ La Parrilla Restaurant by you.
Chicken Enchiladas Suizas ($11.95)

I had no idea what does Suizas mean when I ordered the dish.  Looking it up in Wikipedia, "suiza, meaning Swiss, is an adjective that indicates the dish is topped with a white, milk or cream-based sauce, such as béchamel. This appellation is derived from Swiss immigrants to Mexico who established dairies to produce cream and cheese."  The chicken enchiladas were topped with white cheese.  I like this dish a lot.  The sauce was made with green chili.  Melted cheese on top with tender shredded chicken inside the enchiladas.  Very delicious.  The rice and bean were also great.

Seafood Enchiladas @ La Parrilla Restaurant by you.
Seafood Enchiladas ($12.95)

The seafood enchiladas was made the traditional way with yellow cheese and red sauce.  On the menu, it said that the seafood enchiladas were made with shrimp and real crab meat.  I had tiny pieces of shrimp and either the crab meat was too little for me to notice, or there was no crab meat at all.  Instead of seafood, there were tons of chicken in it.  So they used chicken meat as a filler for the more expensive seafood?  This enchiladas tasted great, but I was just disappointed that there was no seafood in it.

After using the buy 1 get 1 free coupon, the meal came to $13, which was plenty to feed 4 people.  I love the Enchiladas Suizas.  Now I know this is the dish to order in Mexican restaurant.  La Parrilla seems like a great family restaurant.  I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there, but if I am near by, I would go visit again.
