IHOP was one of the first restaurants my parents took us to when we first moved to United States. I've always enjoyed my time there, whether breakfast or dinner. I remember my mom's favorite dish to get for dinner was London Broil. I don't think they have it on their menu anymore. That was a good dish!

I was on their email list, and received a coupon for July 4th weekend. A Red, White & Blueberry combo special was for only $4.99. We headed there for a Saturday breakfast. If you go to any IHOP on the weekend in San Gabriel Valley, it's always full with long wait. To our surprise, this IHOP in Laguna Niguel was only about 3/4 full. Well, it was better for us because we got seated right away.

Red, White & Blueberry Combo Special ($4.99)

Red, White & Blueberry Combo came with two eggs, two bacon or sausages, and hash brown. It was your standard American breakfast, and everything was cooked just the way it was supposed to be.

Red, White & Blueberry Pancake

This was what I was looking forward to the most that day, the red, white & blueberry pancake! IHOP's pancake is always great. Fluffy, soft, and warm. I love both the strawberry sauce and blueberry sauce. Both sauces had lots of actual fruit on it. Yummy!

Chicken Fajita Omelette ($10.99)
Grilled fajita seasoned chicken breast strips, onions and green peppers with salsa and a blend of cheeses. Topped with sour cream.

For our other shared dish, we ordered Chicken Fajita Omelette. It sounded really good when we read it on the menu, but it was just alright. It wasn't bad, just nothing too special about it. We actually liked the simple egg, bacon and potatoes breakfast better.

Buttermilk Pancakes

The omelette also came with a side of pancake. You can never get enough IHOP pancakes!

Our friendly server gave us the bill at the table, and told us the cashier will adjust the price when we paid. Adjust what price? The combo special was already $4.99 on the bill. When we went to pay at the register, the cashier actually took off the $4.99 combo from the bill. But I thought the coupon was to get the combo for special price of $4.99? We asked her what the coupon was for, and she said it was for free combo breakfast. Since we already handed in the coupon when we ordered, I thought maybe I read it wrong. But I saw the pictures when I uploaded to my computer that the cashier probably made a mistake. Oopsy! But thanks for the free breakfast. I hope she didn't get in trouble.
