I have heard good things about Native Foods for a long time, but never had a chance to try this vegan restaurant even though it's only 5 minutes away from our house.  I told my sister about this place.  She told me she was drooling just by reading their menu online.  So we went to Native Foods for a healthy vegan dinner.

Portobello and Sausage Burger ($9.95)
Juicy grilled portobellos, our http://www.eileenlikestoeat.commade Seitan sausage, pomodoro, caramelized onions, sweet roasted garlic, creamy pumpkin seed pesto and mayo.

Sister ordered Portobello and Sausage Burger.  The grilled portobello mushroom was so juicy, and not oily like the one from Veggie Grill at all.  We loved the creamy pumpkin seed pesto sauce.  This burger tasted very gourmet.  Super yummy.

Yam & Jalapeno Soup ($2.95)

I was still kinda full from lunch.  So I just wanted a bowl of soup.  The soup of the day was Yam and Jalapeno Soup.  My sister added the soup as her entree side for $2.95.  I love the soup because it had that sweet and savory and a little spicy for the kick combination.

Rockin' Moroccan Bowl ($9.95)
Our grilled, savory Native Chicken with spicy ginger Moroccan marinade, grilled veggies and quinoa. Topped with currants and tasty toasted almonds.

Remember I said I wasn't hungry?  But a bite of my sister's yummy burger, and a bowl of super delicious soup made me hungry.  My sister decided to order one more item for us to share.  She picked Rockin' Moroccan Bowl.  She took one bite, and said "wow!  This reminded me of Taiwan's night market's grilled corn."  I tried it, and yup, she was right.  The grilled veggies had that perfect smoky flavor to it, and seriously resembled Taiwanese style grilled corn.  The spicy ginger Moroccan sauce was so good.  I couldn't get enough of this bowl.

Seriously, if this is how good vegan food taste like, I can easily become a vegan.  After trying Native Foods that night, I am hooked.  I want to go back at least once a week now.

  1. Seriously, once you go vegan/vegetarian and tasted GREAT food, you will not go back (ok, maybe once in a while you still have fantasies about fried chicken and a burger)...

I've been seriously craving for Native Foods ever since.
Also I even crave for vegetables sometime!
