[Shopping] KitchenAid 13 Piece White Prep Set

I found a great website for discounted housewares called Housewares Deals.  For someone who love to cook (me, yeah!), you can save a lot of money by checking out the deal that is offered everyday.

KitchenAid 13 Piece White Prep Set ($80.00 $19.00)

My first purchase from Housewares Deals was a KitchenAid 13 Piece White Prep Set.  Retail price was $80, and I got it for only $19 + $4.95 shipping. The chopper alone is selling for $20.87 on Amazon!

The set comes with 4 melamine prep bowls, 3 plastic mixing bowls, a food chopper and a colander.  I use them almost everyday in my kitchen now.  It was my first time using a chopper tool.  I tried it with some onion, and didn't really like the result.  I got uneven pieces, and the thinner layer didn't even get chopped at all.  But the result for chopping garlic, ginger, and herbs were amazing!  It was so easy and fast to mince garlic and ginger.  If you cook Chinese food a lot like I do, you know chopping garlic and ginger is required in almost every meal.  It had save me a lot of chopping time with this little tool.

This was $19 very well spent!

  1. Did you try using bottled minced garlic and ginger? It's even more convenient when cooking Chinese food although not as fresh.

I used bottled minced garlic before.
It was convenient, but I thought it had a weird taste.
Still prefer fresh chopped ones better. :-)
