After Dr. P's surfing session, we stopped by at Sonny's Pizza & Pasta to grab a quick lunch.  Dr. P told me he's been to Sonny's a few times and really likes their pizza.

Garlic Bread

The garlic bread at Sonny's was very addicting.  I can't even begin to describe how good it was.  It was just super delicious.

Caesar Salad ($6.95)

The thin crust pizza on the other people's table sure looked good.  But I wasn't really in the mood for pizza that day.  So we ordered a salad and a pasta to share.  Caesar salad was fresh with their http://www.eileenlikestoeat.commade dressing.  They used the same garlic bread as crouton.  Yum!

Chicken Scallopini ($15.95)
Tender breast of chicken topped with capers, artichoke hearts & mushrooms baked in a light lemon butter creme sauce then served over linguini pasta

Chicken Sacllopini is one of my favorite Italian pasta dish (it's also my mom's favorite!).  Sonny's version was creamy, but light.  Loved the mushroom and artichoke.  Chicken was tender.  Another delicious dish!

I really like this little restaurant.  San Clemente felt like a small surf town.  The people at the restaurant all looked like beach people.  It was really relaxing to sit at the outdoor patio and enjoy the good food.  Next time I go to the beach with Dr. P, we'll definitely be back again.

  1. San Clemente is a wonderful town to explore... Its also fun for No. OC folks to catch the Metro-Rail from places like Fullerton, Anaheim, Irvine, etc. and ride it down to the San Clemente Pier (where it ends). Weekends train-fares are discounted.

    Thanks for the info.
