San Diego Downtown

After afternoon dessert at Extraordinary Desserts, we headed to the harbor area in San Diego for an sunset stroll.

We parked our car and paid the expensive meter, and started walking on the boardwalk.

Lots of high rises in the downtown area.  I would LOVE to live in one of these buildings, on the top penthouse floor of course.  haha....

Along the boardwalk, there are lots of statues and art works.  Dr. P liked the dragon.

I liked the shiney swordfish.

Here is the famous Star of India.  It is the oldest iron-hulled merchant ship afloat.  The ship was launched in 1863!

Another ship.  I don't know the name of this one, but it sure is beautiful.

On another end of the harbor, we saw some military ship.

The ocean was so pretty.  We just sat and enjoyed the view with nice ocean breeze.  Then before we knew it, it was time to eat again....

  1. So fun! Haven't been to San Diego in three years. I think the military ship is the USS Midway. Not sure though.

    I don't know, either.... Next time I'll take a closer look. ^^

  2. Eileen: If you return to San Diego and have never been on one of their harbor tours, be sure to take one of them because its a wonderful way to see the ships and city from the perspective of the bay!

Yeah I saw a whole bunch people taking those harbor tours.
Definitely want to try to go on one next time.
