Aunt really likes the dinner we had at East Gourmet Seafood Restaurant.  So we returned for dim sum two days later.



The place was packed.  We waited outside for a good 40 minutes before our number was called for a table.  I think most people came because they were having an "all dim sum for $1.88" special.




The waiter brought us a pot of tea after we sat down.... a really dirty teapot.  We were shocked that they would bring something this dirty to a table.  We tried to get the waiters attention.  But it seemed like everybody was too busy to even stop when we were waving our hands.  Oh well....  so we tried to forget about the tea and focus on their food.


腐竹捲 Bean Curd Roll ($1.88)

Bean Curd Roll was pretty good.  Meat and bamboo shoot inside the bean curd.


排骨 Steamed Spareribs ($1.88)

Steamed Spareribs was tasty.  We liked how they used steamed pumpkin in it.


豬紅 Pig Blood ($1.88)

Mom liked the pig blood and chives.


蝦球 Shrimp Balls ($1.88)

Cousin liked the shrimp balls.


燒賣 Siu Mai ($1.88)

I like Siu Mai, but thought their siu mai was just alright.  It was small, and didn't taste particularly good.


鮮魚捲 Fish Rolls ($1.88)

Fish Rolls didn't have much taste, but the fish meat was really soft.


蘿蔔糕 Turnip Cake ($1.88)

Turnip Cake was made to order.  It tasted pretty good.


鮮蝦腸粉 Shrimp Rice Noodle ($1.88)

Large shrimps inside of the shrimp rice noodle.  For $1.88, this was a great deal.


鹹水餃 Fried Dumpling ($1.88)

Fried Dumpling was my aunt's favorite.  The sweet and chewy mochi with the salty meat filling was a great combination.


叉燒包 BBQ Pork Buns ($1.88)

We ordered some BBQ Pork Buns to get filled up.



I didn't like it that much.  The filling was a bit too watery for my taste.


雞包 Chicken Buns ($1.88)

Still not full?  Another order of Chicken Buns.



Chicken bun tasted much better than BBQ Pork bun.  Tender chicken and mushroom inside the bun and it was yummy.

I have mix feeling about this restaurant.  I like their dinner food, but their dim sum was just ok.  They do have a few items I enjoyed.  Service was much better at dinner time.  During their busy dim sum hour, there was pretty much no service at all.  It was really hard to get anybody's attention.  As for the price of $1.88 per dish, it was definitely a great deal.  So if you would like to have some cheap and standard dim sum, and don't care too much about service, then you should try this restaurant.  Otherwise, just go somewhere else.
