Day 4 in Costa Rica sucked BIG TIME for me!  I pretty much spent the entire day either in bed or in the bathroom.  Dr. P's tummy issue started before me, and it also ended before me.  I didn't want Dr. P to be stuck in our hotel room with me.  So poor Dr. P had to hang out by himself all day at the resort.

Dr. P thought I should at least eat something for the day and dragged me to lunch.  I grabbed some vegetable and rice.  Even though I was pretty sick, I still thought the veggies were good.

Loved the papaya!

Went back to the room, and saw this little guy right outside our balcony door.

There....  That was my entire day.  Traveler's diarrhea SUCKS!!!!

  1. Poor you :-( Hopefully the next day was better?!

I was sooooo glad that Traveler's diarrhea only lasts about 24 hours.

  2. If you gotten food poison, you shouldn't be eating papaya or banana. You should eat more solid fruit like apple.

  5. Sorry to read that the food made you guys sick. I'm not a big fan of the food from those All Inclusive Resorts, especially if they are owned by Barcelo. Soon, you'll see the Barcelo chain owned by an American corporation...LOL...like most of the Europeans companies down in Latinamerica.

I wasn't sure if it was the food or the water that got us sick.
We only drank bottled water. But my mom said maybe it was the water from faucet that we used while brushing teeth.
Or it could be salad that was washed with faucet water?

  6. Uhmm...I'm not sure, but maybe your mom was right about the faucet water. I've never gotten sick drinking water down in CR, but I'm from there, so I'm used to it. However, my relatives from Taiwan and the US usually get food poisoning when they go down there. It's pretty much a combination of everything.

    Yeah food poisoning wasn't fun.
But I probably lost a few pounds because of that so it was all good. haha...
