[Bishop] [Fast Food] Nik-n-Willie's Pizza & Sub Sandwiches

Nik-n-Willie's Pizza & Sub Sandwiches
214 W Line St
Bishop, CA 93514

Bishop is a small town about 35 miles away from Mammoth Mountain.  We got there about 2pm and stopped to grab lunch.

Dr. Park took me to Nik-n-Willie's.  He used to come up to the Eastern Sierra for camping with his brother and cousin all the time when he was younger.  And they always stopped by this little pizza & subs place for food.

The place is small, but has the little town charm to it.  It's a one person operating shop.  The owner was very friendly.  He took our order, made our sandwich, and was busing making pizza while we were eating.

Fountain Soda (44 oz) ($2.50)

The weather was hot, and Dr. Park was thirsty for some Coke.  He ordered the large fountain soda.  The owner said, "Are you sure you want large?  It's very large.  And you can always get refilled at the fountain...."  Isn't that nice of him?  He wanted us to save money and reminded us we can just get a smaller drink and refill.  But Dr. Park still got the large drink.  The large purple plastic cup was reuseable.  Nice.

Hot Slice of Vegetarian Pizza ($3.50)

I was still full from that Jack In The Box breakfast bowl so I only wanted a slice of pizza.  There were pepperoni and vegetarian available at the time I ordered.  I picked vegetarian.  The owner told me that the vegetarian pizza was made about 40 minutes ago and asked if it was ok with me.  I said I didn't mind, and he just gave it to us for free!  That was some service.

The pizza had tons of veggie topping.  Mushrooms, black olives, green peppers, onions, tomatoes and artichoke hearts.  The curst was crunchy.  This slice of pizza was pretty good.  Dr. Park think it would be even better if it was freshly made.  But I was perfectly happy with the free and delicious pizza.

Meatball Toasted Sub ($7.95)

Dr. Park ordered the Meatball Toasted Sub.  Normally it just comes with meatballs with marinara sauce and cheese.  But Dr. Park requested to add onions, lettuce and olives.  The sub was huge!  The rich aroma of the tomato marinara sauce with meatball made me hungry.

Even though my stomach was full, I just couldn't resist and still took a few bites out of the sandwich.  The meatball was gigantic.  The piece I had was a tiny bit overcooked in my opinion, but still tasted delicious.  It tasted very http://www.eileenlikestoeat.commade.  With the melted cheese and marinara sauce, yum yum!  Dr. Park really liked the meatball sub.  But it was just too big.  The two of us couldn't even finish the whole thing.

I like this place for both their food and service.  I can see why Dr. Park would stop by here every time he passes by Bishop.  I'll definately come back again if I pass by this little town again.
