I've seen Sharky's Woodfired Mexican Grill in The District when I lived in Irvine last year.  Then when I moved down to Aliso Viejo, I see Sharky's again at Aliso Viejo Town Center.  I never had much desire to visit because I thought it was just another Mexican fast food chain like Baja Fresh.  Then I got one of those flyer coupons in the mail from them.  I had no idea this is an organic and all natural restaurant.  From reading their ad, I found out that they only serve all natural meat, wild caught fish, and organic vegetable.  Why didn't they put "all natural & organic" somewhere on their sign so people can know about it?

The restaurant was very spacious and bright.  The counter girl was really friendly and helpful.

We placed our order at the counter, paid, and got a number stand.  A server brought us our food when it was ready.  The coupon we had was $5 off for $20 order.  So we ordered two items to eat there, and an extra burrito for to-go to make it over $20.

Salsa

They had a fresh salsa bar with many different choices.  Dr. P's favorite was the green salsa.  I like the fire roasted salsa the best.

Steak Fajita Bowl ($7.49)
Rice, beans, grilled veggies, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo with tortillas

Dr. P ordered Steak Fajita Bowl.  The all natural angus steak tasted so fresh and tender.  The grilled veggies were delicious.  Lots of rice and black bean underneath the meat and veggies.  We also liked the guacamole a lot.

The fajita bowl also came with some chips and tortillas (choice of flour or corn).  Dr. P loved this fajita bowl.

Wild Salmon "Lite" Burrito ($7.49)
Grilled wild salmon, nori seaweed, poblano brown rice, avocado, cucumber, cabbage, fat-free chili sesame aioli, low-fat whole wheat tortilla

I ordered Wild Salmon "Lite" Burrito.  From the description, it seemed ultra healthy.  But I ordered it not only because it's healthy, I actually liked everything that was in the burrito.  I LOVE how they add seaweed in the burrito.  I felt like I was eating sushi burrito.  haha...

Perfectly grilled salmon, seasoned brown rice, crunchy fresh cucumber and cabbage, creamy avocado, with a light chili sesame aioli.  The whole time I was eating, I kept on saying (with my mouth full), "Oh my god!  This is sooooooo good!"  This is the best burrito ever!

Portion was big.  I only finished half a burrito, and Dr. P only finished half of his food, too.  I went up to the counter trying to get to-go container.  The counter girl came up to me without me even asking anything.  She told me she would have the kitchen start making our to-go burrito right away.  It should take about 3 or 4 minutes, and someone will bring it to us when it's ready.  Then she gave me a to-go plate with lid for the fajita bowl, and some foil and paper bag for the burrito.  Wow!  She even remembered exactly what we ordered!  I was really amazed at the great service at Sharky's.

Santa Fe Chicken Burrito ($6.99)
Cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo

Our to-go burrito was Santa Fe Chicken Burrito.  Sorry it looked soggy in the picture because it was left in the fridge overnight.  The all natural chicken breast was seasoned very well, and very tender.  Delicious guacamole.  This was a really light burrito because there was no rice nor bean in it.  Very yummy.

We absolutely love Sharky's, and wished we found it a lot sooner.  We used to love Chipotle, another all natural Mexican fast food place.  But their menu seemed limited.  After a while of eating the same thing over and over, we got tired of it.  Sharky's has a much bigger menu.  We can't wait to go back again to try more of their natural and organic Mexican food.

  1. WOW the food looks great and the price is very good too. Usually organic food is more expensive. Will try it, has a location in Pasadena.

Yeah, the price is really good for organic and all natural food.
It's pretty much the same price as any other similar Mexican food places.
Why go to Baja Fresh/La Salsa/Rubio's when you can go to Sharky's?

  4. It looks really good! I like how they also serve the food on plates that are not disposable- feels much more high end. Salmond and seaweed in a burrito certainly sounds really interesting, although I can see how it compares to some sushi roll.

    Yeah, I noticed that, too!
    We really like this place!

I guess you'll just have to visit us in Cali for some yummy salmon burrito! haha...
