[Cooking] Taiwanese Style Pork Chop

I came across this Taiwanese Style Pork Chop recipe a while ago (It's written in Chinese). I love Taiwanese pork chop. I had two pork chop in my fridge so I thought I would give this recipe a try. The recipe was written to make about 20 pork chops. Since I only had 2, I didn't follow the measurement. I just sorta add the ingredients according to my own liking.

台式排骨 Taiwanese Style Pork Chop

Original recipe (for 20 pork chops):

1 tablespoon white pepper
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon five spices
3 tablespoons sugar
1 cup low sodium soy sauce
2 cups water
1/2 cup rice wine

Marinate the pork chops for 2 hours.  Add 3 eggs and mix.  Add 3 cups cornstarch.  Cook pork chops in oil.

The way I made it (for 2 pork chops):

1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon all spices
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
4 tablespoons water
1 tablespoons rice wine

I marinated the meat for two hours, didn't add the egg, added 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and cooked the chops with some olive oil.

The pork chops tasted good, but it didn't taste like Taiwanese pork chop I had in restaurants.  I thought the flavor wasn't strong enough.  Maybe I should marinate longer?  Or add less water?  Or follow the original recipe exactly?

I will try to make this again.
