Since I was up in San Gabriel Valley, of course I had to visit my favorite HK cafe, Harbor Kitchen.  Sister and I went during afternoon tea hour.

咖啡 Coffee / 奶茶 Milk Tea

We ordered two dishes, which came with two drinks.  One coffee and one milk tea.  Condensed milk tasted so good in coffee and milk tea.

椒鹽雞翼 Chicken Wings with Spicy Salt ($4.95)

I thought Chicken Wings with Spicy Salt looked a bit dry when the waitress brought the plate to the table.  But it wasn't dry at all.  The skin was crispy, and very flavorful.  Under the skin, the meat was super juicy.  Yum!

咸魚雞粒炒米 Salted Fish & Chicken Fried Rice Noodle ($4.95)

Salted Fish & Chicken Fried Rice Noodle was really tasty, if you like the unique salted fish taste.  The tiny pieces of salted fish was pretty salty, and kinda stinky.  The stinky is sorta like stinky tofu kind of stinky, which smells bad but taste really good.  Lots of tender chicken in the fried rice noodle.  I like it a lot, especially with some spicy chili sauce added.

My sister always says, "The food at Harbor Kitchen looks so not special, but it just taste so good.  Weird."  I agree.  I love all the food I've tried at Harbor Kitchen.  What should I try next time?

  1. I've never been to Harbor Kitchen, but those chicken wings are calling my name! Extra crispy chicken skin is the stuff of odes and sonnets. :)

You should check out Harbor Kitchen when you get a chance.
It's just very simple and nothing special dishes, but taste so good for some odd reason. haha...

  2. Went there a few times, some dishes are good some just okay. But actually I like the most is their stainless steel cups. Asked to buy one before but they said its custom order items from Hong Kong and all used, so had to wait a while before they get more again. Sure enough, few months later, they actually have the cups displayed on sale when you walk in. Ordered 2 right there. Now its my daily cup for coffee and hot tea at work. If you place a ceramic tea cup cover over it, the tea does stay hot for a long time!

Oh I love that stainless steel mug, too!
How much are they selling them for?
I'm going to get one next time I go!

  3. The food here is just so dirt CHEAP! And they give refills on the teas. It's a bit unimaginable. I've since gotten my own "condensed milk" syrup bottle, and have cans upon cans of condensed milk for coffee/tea/shaved ice.

hahaha really? You have condense milk syrup bottle at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com?
I want one! Where did you buy it?
