[Monterey Park] [Chinese] 陸羽美食 Look You Fan Dim

Look You Fan Dim

My parents had dinner at Look You Fan Dim a week before.  They loved the food and the price.  I had the leftover and thought the food was good.  So we went again this weekend with brother and his girlfriend.

The restaurant is right next door to Hong Kong Supermarket.  It's not a big place, but it feels pretty cozy inside.

They offer special value dinner set.  We went for the Dinner For Five for $38 set... again.

Reader Helena recommended the Steamed Eggplant dish.  So of course we had to order it.

海鮮豆腐羹 Seafood Tofu Soup ($6.50)

Seafood Tofu Soup seriously had way too much seafood, and I am not complaining.  There were fish, scallop, shrimp, and squid.  I like to add a little bit of vinegar (the red kind) and white pepper to my soup.

海鮮一品煲 Seafood Combination Hot Pot ($9.00)

Seafood Combination Hot Pot came out sizzeling hot.  Again, lots of seafood.  The tofu was super soft.  The sauce was good with rice.

碧綠斑球 Rock Cod Fillet with Vegetable ($7.50)

Lots of seafood in this dinner set, and I like it!  The Rock Cod Fillet with Vegetable was good.  I like how they serve lots of green veggie with it.

椒鹽排骨 Hot & Spicy Pork Chop ($7.00)

The Hot & Spicy Pork Chop was hot but definitely not spicy.  It wasn't very good that day.  The pork chops had too much fat.

南乳吊燒雞 (半只) Soya Half Cantonese Fried Chicken ($7.00)

Soya Half Cantonese Fried Chicken was delicious.  The crispy skin was the best part.

雙菇牛肉 Beef with Twin Mushrooms ($7.00)

Beef with Twin Mushrooms was another very good dish to go with rice.  Lots of mushroom.  Love it!

瑤柱肉鬆蒸茄子 Steamed Eggplant with Dry Scallops and Pork ($7.50)
Steamed Pork Bits, Sprinkled with Dry Scallops, atop Soft Eggplant

Steamed Eggplant with Dry Scallops and Pork was EVERYONE's favorite dish that night.  (Thank you, Helena! ^^)  The eggplants were steamed to a perfect doneness.  Soft, but not mushy.  The sauce was flavorful, but not overpowering.  The dry scallops and pork definitely added some more points to the dish.  Normally, my brother doesn't eat eggplant.  He tried it, and couldn't stop eating it!  I would go back to Look You just to have this dish again!

I really like this restaurant.  The older waitress ladies were very nice and friendly, too.  They kept on joking with my parents and made them laugh.  They also told us about a $5 off coupon in some Chinese newspaper.  I think we'll be back to Look You again very very soon.

Next time you go, you can try their set dinner.
Not only it's a better value, the food is delicious!
