Last Tuesday, I found out about The Old Spaghetti Factory's 40 Anniversary special.  Every Tuesday till the end of May, all spaghetti meal are 40% off.  That means a complete meal for about $6!  Amazing price.  So parents and I checked out the 40 years old venue for lunch on that same day.



We went to the Duarte location. They have a giant parking lot, and the building doesn't really look like a restaurant.  Above the entrance, it said "Duarte School".  We weren't sure if this was the restaurant or not when we first arrived.  I am guessing this building might be the Duarte School back in the day?




We got seated next to the old dining car.  There are tables inside the car, too.



Flags from different countries were hung on the ceiling.  Right above us, a Taiwanese flag!


Bread

The meal started out with fresh and warm sourdough bread.


Minestrone Soup

I picked Minestrone Soup as my starter.  Lots of veggie and small pasta in the soup.  Small cup, but very filling.


Green Salad with Creamy Pesto Dressing

Dad got green salad with creamy pesto dressing.  He said the salad was great.


Green Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing

Mom also got green salad, but requested the Balsamic Vinaigrette on the side.  She loved the dressing!


Coffee, Milk & Iced Tea

The meal also came with free drinks.  Dad got hot coffee, mom got a glass of milk, and I got iced tea.


Italian Sausage with Meat Sauce ($10.75 $6.45)

Dad got the Italian Sausage with Meat Sauce.  I had a bite of the sausage and thought it was a little salty.  But dad thought it was great.  He liked the meat sauce as well.  If you don't like spaghetti, you can also request another type of pasta.


Pot Pourri ($9.99 $5.99)
A sampler of Butter & Mizithra Cheese, Meat, Clam and Tomato Sauces

Mom got the Pot Pourri, which was a sampler 4 different sauces.  The clam sauce didn't have much taste.  Tomato was light.  Meat sauce was just like tomato sauce, but with meat.  Butter & Mizithra was the best, but quite heavy.  Mom tried to divided the pasta into 4 different sections and tried the sauce individually. She said next time maybe she'll try mixing everything together and see how that would taste like.

I got The Manager's Favorite, which was picking two sauces of my choice. I got the clam sauce and the meat sauce.  The clam sauce was really bland.  I didn't like it.  But the meat sauce was great.  It tasted very http://www.eileenlikestoeat.commade, like it had been simmering for a long time.


Spumoni Ice Cream

The meal didn't end right there.  We still got ice cream to come.  We all got the Spumoni Ice Cream.  My scoops had mostly chocolate, and I loved it!



I asked my parents what did they think of the restaurant.  Dad: "It's cheaper than Denny's, and the restaurant also looks much nicer than Denny's!"  Mom: "I am coming back here EVERY Tuesday till end of May!"  I like The Old Spaghetti Factory, too.  I think we're going back again tomorrow!
