在P.F. Chang's吃完午餐後，公園先生帶我到Larchmont街買甜點，這家剛開張不久的Crumbs Bake Shop是家有名的cupcake專賣店，我選了個Red Velvet巧克力口味的，配上隔壁Peet's Coffee的冰摩卡，超讚的下午茶！

After our lunch at P.F. Chang's, Dr. Park took me to Larchmont for dessert.  The new Crumbs Bake Shop is famous for its cupcakes and I've been wanting to try it. 



The bakery came from New York, and now have two locations in Los Angeles (the other location is at Berverly Hills).  I like the cute exterior of the store.





Cupcakes cupcakes cupcakes!  So many different kinds of cupcake.  Which one to choose?  Their cupcakes are pricy.  It's $3.75 for one.  But they are giant cupcakes.



When I was browsing and deciding what kind of cupcake to get, the girl behind us said, "Get the Red Velvet.  It's really really good.  That's what I am getting."


Red Velvet Cupcake ($3.75)

Red Velvet Cupcake it is!  What is a red velvet cake?  According to wikipedia, "A Red velvet cake is a type of rich and sweet cake, with a distinctive dark red to bright red or red-brown color. Common ingredients include buttermilk, butter, flour, cocoa powder, and often either beets, or red food coloring."



Oh yeah!  We also went in to Peet's Coffee and got a iced mocha to go with the cupcake.  Iced coffee and cupcake just go so well together.



The cake part had a beautiful reddish brown color.  The chocolate flavor was tasty and it wasn't that sweet.  The frosting was the sweet part.... maybe a little bit too sweet.  Just eating the cake itself felt like a light dessert.  But with the sweet cream cheese frosting, it became really rich.  I was glad that there was the iced mocha to wash it down.

If eating the cupcake alone, I would think it's too sweet.  But with coffee, then it's perfect.   Well, it's still too sweet for Dr. Park's taste but men usually don't know how to appreciate sweets anyway.  haha....  I would love to go back to Crumbs and try more flavors.  Does anyone have recommendation on what to try next?
