Last time we went to California Fish Grill, we noticed Stonefire Grill in the same plaza. I went online to see what kind of food does Stonefire Grill serve after getting http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com that night. Stonefire Grill offers salad, pizza, pasta, sandwich, and BBQ. We gotta have some BBQ for Memorial weekend, right?
It is a semi-fast food type of restaurant. Orders are placed at the counter. You find a seat yourself, leave the number stand on the table, and a server will bring the food to you. Utensil, plates, and sauces are all self-served. Self-serve means saving money on tips. Great!
Breadsticks
We ordered two individual meals. They come with breadsticks and salad. The breadsticks were hot, fluffy, cheesy, and garlicky. Love it! Can we have more, please?
Caesar Salad
Dr. P ordered Caesar Salad. He took one bite, and yelled out, "Wow! This is really good!" It had a little spice to it. We asked a server girl about it. She said the spiciness could come from the garlic, but what made the salad great was anchovy. That's what I would call a "real" Caesar salad. You gotta have anchovy!
Greek Salad
I got a Greek Salad. Lettuce, tomato, red onion, olive, and feta cheese. It tasted really fresh, with really good flavor. Portion is big. We were both almost full after the breadsticks and salad.
1/4 Chicken and Tri Tip Combo ($9.99)
A smiling host by the door asked us if it was our first time in the restaurant as we entered. He recommended tri tip to us, saying it is one of their best item. Dr. P took his suggestion and ordered 1/4 chicken and trip tip combo. He also chose lemon garlic for his chicken, and butter garlic for his tri tip. The other choice was BBQ sauce. The host was right. The tri tip was DELICIOUS! It was cooked medium, very tender, very soft. Butter is not exactly my friend since I'm on a diet. But I couldn't stop myself from eating the garlic butter. Lemon Garlic Chicken was super moist, and every bite was full of flavor.
1/4 Chicken and Rib Combo ($10.99)
I ordered 1/4 Chicken and Rib Combo, both with BBQ sauce. The rib was tender. It wasn't as flavorful as the one from Lucille's, but it was still a great rack of ribs. The 1/4 chicken I got was breast and wing. The cook definitely knew how to BBQ well because the chicken breast was cooked perfectly and still soft and moist.
We couldn't finish the meal so I walked over to the self-served counter to look for boxes. I couldn't find them, then I heard "Miss, do you need help?" A worker from behind the to-go order counter was asking me. The to-go counter still had some distance from the self-served counter. I told him I was looking for boxes. He could just tell me where they are, or point them out to me. But instead he came out from the to-go counter area, walked over to where I was, and got the boxes out from the side (where I didn't see) for me. I thought that was really nice of him to do that. As we were leaving, the nice host greeted us with another big smile and thanked us for visiting.
We love the food, the friendly service, and the reasonable price at Stonefire Grill. Next time we shall try their pizza and pasta.

How nice! I love restaurant with friendly service, even if their food is not as good, I will still give them another try. Rather than going to those restaurant with good food but bad service.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you 100%.
Bad service at any place makes me never want to go back again.

It's a great place to hang out with friends, too.
Maybe next time you and friends can try this place and order a family meal to share.
I went back last night for takeout and the food and service were both fantastic again, still can't get over how good the tri-tip is. Great Restaurant!!

My wife and I tried StoneFire Grill today. We loved it. She ordered the 1/4 BBQ chicken and tri-tip. I ordered 1/2 baby back-ribs. We will come back and try something else again.
