I was reading this article from OC Weekly, Go Around the World in 50 States, and found Mas' Islamic Restaurant.  My dad loves Islamic Chinese food.  We have been going to China Islamic Restaurant in Rosemead for 20 years.  Dr. P has never had Islamic Chinese food before.  I was eager to show him my dad's favorite food at this OC Islamic Chinese restaurant.


蔥爆羊肉 Lamb with Green Onions ($10.95)

I ordered the items that my dad always get.  Lamb with Green Onions is must-get item at any Islamic Chinese restaurant.  The lamb was chewy and meaty.  This dish is great with rice.



蔥油餅 Green Onion Cake ($2.95)

But the way my family eats Lamb with Green Onion was wrapping it with Green Onion Cake, and make a Chinese lamb burrito.  It's really good that way, especially after dipping in hot chili sauce.


三鮮炒刀削麵 Three Flavors Dough Sliced Chow Mein ($10.95)

Dr. P loves Three flavors Dough sliced Chow Mein.  He said the chow mein tasted like Korean rice cake.  It was thick and chewy.  there were beef, chicken, shrimp, cabbage, bean sprout, and egg in the chow mein.  It was tasty, but a bit oily.


酸菜羊肉砂鍋 Lamb with Pickled Cabbage Warm Pot ($14.50)

I grew up eating Lamb with Pickled Cabbage Warm Pot, and thought the soup was delicious.  But Dr. P had never had "sour" soup before.  He thought the taste was really strange, and didn't really like it.



The food at Mas' Islamic was quite good, although I still think China Islamic's food is a tad better.  Portion is HUGE!  We had enough leftover for the next 4 days.  It's good that we have an option like this in OC.  Now we just need a Taiwanese spicy hot pot restaurant somewhere in OC!
