There's just something about The Boiling Crab that makes you crave for it so bad from time to time.  They must add something so additive in that way too good whle sha-bang sauce.

The Boiling Crab on Brookhurst in Garden Grove is ALWAYS crowded.  This time we decided to try their other location in Garden Grove on Euclid.  This location is not as crowded as the other one.  We got there around 5pm, and still had to wait for about 20 minutes for a table.  But we weren't bored because there are a few of those Vietnamese bars with bikini / lingerie waitresses in the same plaza, and their doors were wide open for everyone to see.  The sun wasn't even out, and Dr. P had his sunglasses on the whole time while we were waiting outside.  Hmmm I wonder why....

The restaurant is as big as their other locations.  The customers here were mostly family, unlike the gangster looking people at Brookhurst.  >_<

The waitress put the bibs on us.  Now we are ready to eat!

Corona Beer ($3.00) / Iced Tea ($2.00)

Their drinks are very reasonably priced.  Dr. P got a Corona for $3, and I got an iced tea for $2 with unlimited refill.  I had 3 cups of iced tea because our seafood was spiiiiicy!

Oyster ($7.99/6)

The Boiling Crab always has the freshest oysters.  The oyster never had any fishy taste.  Just simply good.

Gumbo with Rice ($5.99)

We tried their Gumbo for the first time.  You can choose to have it with rice or without rice.  Dr. P liked his gumbo with rice.  The soup was very flavorful.  It had a lot of sausages, shrimp, and okra in the soup.  Very yummy.

Cajun Fries ($2.99)

Cajun Fries is a must have thing at The Boiling Crab.  I thought I would just have a few since I'm on a diet (well, supposedly).  But once I had a few, I couldn't stop.  I ended up finishing the entire basket.

The Whole Sha-Bang Shrimp ($8.99/lb)

What else can I say besides The Whole Sha-Bang Shrimp is really really really really good?!

The Whole Sha-Bang Crawfish ($7.99/lb) / Corn on the Cob ($0.75/each x 2)

Dr. P like Crawfish better.  He thinks the meat is more flavorful than shrimp.  But I prefer shrimp.  Crawfish takes too much work for just a little tiny piece of meat.  But I like the claw meat from big crawfish though.

I went to the powder room, came back, and saw this on the table.  Awwww..... how sweet!  Dr. P peeled a shrimp and a crawfish for me.  He even left the shrimp head (my favorite part) to suck on.  haha....

Delicious!  I LOVE The Boiling Crab.  But I think they use A LOT of MSG in their sauce.  Both of my arms were going tingling numb on the way http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com.  I get that reaction when I consume too much MSG.  I wonder if we can ask for no MSG next time?

  3. The MSG is probably the answer to your question as to why the food is addicting...
I love oysters but lately worry about the ones from the gulf due to the oil spill...

Yeah I know what you mean....
I think maybe seafood prices will go up, too.

  5. I thought MSG is no longer legal in the USA...it's not!?

    I don't think so.
I believe majority of the Asian restaurants use MSG.
