Victor's Restaurant
Third restaurant on Stone Island Beach
Mazatlan, Mexico
As part of the tour, Randi took us to Victor's Restaurant on the beach for a drink. I went to use the restroom in the back. And there was no door and no light! Oh well, if nobody minds, I didn't mind either.
There was no stove, either. Everything was cooked on a grill with charcoal.
Beautiful view of the ocean from the dining area.
Very simple menu.
Chips and Salsa
We were treated with chips and salsa as soon as we sat down. Victor's has the most delicious http://www.eileenlikestoeat.commade salsa.
La Cerveza del Pacifico
A drink was included in the tour. We all went for the beer. Only one kind of beer was offered here: La Cerveza del Pacifico. The Pacifico brewing factory is right here on Mazatlan. A fresh cold beer after horseback riding at the beach, ahhhh, what a beautiful morning!
Coconut Shrimp (MEX$130)
We all ordered some snack to go with the beer. The other two couples both ordered coconut shrimp. The jumbo shrimps looked great. Everyone said it was delicious.
Shrimp Quesadillas (MEX$75)
Dr. P and I ordered shrimp quesadillas to share. The tortilla tasted really different than the kind I'm used to from the U.S. It was definitely http://www.eileenlikestoeat.commade. The fresh tortilla tasted so much better than the kind we get from supermarkets. The shrimp was so fresh. It tasted sweet without any seasoning. The sides weren't too special, but good as well.
Mexican "catsup" spelled and tasted different. It had a reddish pink color, a bit more transparent, and a lot more sweeter than American ketchup.
That's Randi in the picture. I love listening to Randi's funny and interesting stories about Mazatlan, the ranch and her horses. While we were sitting there chatting, a lot of vendors came by trying to sell us things. Things like key chains, jewelries, clothes, hammock, braiding your hair, and iguana. Yes, IGUANA! I had to say no to iguana, but bought two dresses for $20.
After our morning happy hour, Randi took us back to the cruise. Sadly, we had to say goodbye. I would LOVE to come back to Mazatlan to ride with Randi again.
