After lunch, we headed to our state room. Our luggage was already at the door. But our key card didn't work. Had to go to the front desk and waited in the long line with bunch of other guests with nonworking key card.
Finally made it to our stateroom. Our room number was 8576 on mid ship deck 8. The ocean view room had a big window. It was partly blocked by the lifeboat, but we still had a pretty good view. The room was bigger than Carnival Cruise's room, which we went on before. Last time we stayed in an inside cabin. It was always dark. With the big window this time, we got plenty of natural light. What a big difference! In the future, we would like to get a balcony room.
They didn't put our beds together when we first got there, but later we put them together into a queen size bed.
On one side of the room, there was a table with mirror. There was a coffee machine for us to use. I was so glad they had a blow dryer in the room. Also a note for everyone who like to go on a cruise, remember to bring a multiple plug extension cord because there is only one plug in the room.
On the other side was a small dining table, phone and TV. There were only a few channels on TV: CNN, ESPN, TNT and Cartoon Network. They also had two movie channels.
The closet had plenty of spaces and drawers. There was also a safe. Mini bar was filled with soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. But everything cost money.
I really like NCL's bathroom. It was so much bigger than Carnival's. There were doors dividing the toilet, sink and shower. It was very convenient that way so more than one person can use the restroom at the same time.
The sink was huge. Plenty of spaces to place our stuffs.
Shower area was really spacious. There were shampoo and shower gel in dispensers on the wall. The water control was nice, too. You can control the temperature! There were different temperatures on the knob. Just turn it to the temperature you like, then you get nice and warm shower.
I really like our room. It was 10 times better than the Carnival room we stayed in before. After cruising with NCL, I don't think I'll ever go back to Carnival again.

Thanks for sharing all this info. I think the cabin layout and size has more to do with how the ship is rather than the cruise line. We will be on the Sky and they have some of the smallest cabins around. The shower is a tiny circle with a curtain. The newer ships seem to have slightly larger cabins.

Have a great time on your cruise!
