We had a field trip to Magnolia Bird Farm in Riverside for one of my class. This bird farm has been around for 53 years and now have over 75 varieties of birds. The farm is also a store so it's open to the public, no ticket required.
You can play with the bird all you want here. There's a sign on the wall though.... "You can touch the birds... At your own risk!" This parrot named Captain is pretty nice, but he doesn't like to be touched.
There are two breeds of parrot with different colors, blue/orange (like Captain in the last photo) and green/red. This parrot right here is a mix of these two breeds so he has all the different color. The tour guide said that the mixture breed is actually not encouraged. Parrot breeders don't really like the mixture of color. But I actually thought the colorful parrot is very pretty.
These two cockatoos are the friendliest ones, especially the one named Asheley. She likes to jump on people's shoulder and snuggle. So cute! I played with her for quite awhile. She's priced at $1,400. Expensive!
I don't know what these birds are called. They have bright red blush on their face. It's like they have makeup on. Super cute!
This cockatoo is sqeaking like crazy. I think she wants to get out of the cage?
It was a really fun field trip. Magnolia Bird Farm is pretty big. If you are in the Riverside area and have time, be sure to check out the farm. It's a fun place to take kids to, too.
