As usual, we stopped by at Half & Half Tea Express after dinner at Flamin Spice.

Oh no! They ran out of my favorite sesame boba! So I just ordered the No #1 drink on their top 10 best selling list: Milk Drink with Honey Boba and Chocolate Pudding.

On Tuesday, Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot has $20 all you can eat special. Since Wednesday is a holiday, we decided to drive all the way up to Hacienda Heights for the AYCE deal. We got there around 7-ish. The hostess turned us away as there were already too many people on the waiting list. Oh well, so we decided to go to the nearby Flaming Spice for AYCE spicy hot pot.

We had to wait for about 15 minutes for a table. A sneaky Chinese lady actually tried to "cut us in line" on the signing waiting list. She put her name on a separate sheet of paper, then put that piece of paper on top of the original waiting list where everyone had their names on it. Dr. P saw the whole thing and called her out for it. She just kept on saying to us "don't worry, you go first you go first." Ahhhh.... rude!

Dr. P ordered Iced Milk Drink with Taro Pudding and Honey Boba. He liked it a lot. I like their honey boba.

I went to Flaming Spice for lunch before, and hated the place. Their lunch special was pretty stupid. You get an individual hot pot for about $10, but there's nothing in it except the soup base. My friends picked Flaming Spice to do our dinner gathering. I was hoping their all you can eat dinner would be better than my last experience. And I ended up loving this place!

All You Can Eat ($19.99/person)

All you can eat is $19.99 per person. There were 6 of us, and they served us with two pots. So we picked 4 different soup base. Dr. P and I shared one pot by ourselves. We ordered the Beer Duck soup and Oxtail Soup. Both were really good. And there were quite a few pieces of duck and oxtail in the soup base.

[City of Industry] [Japanese] Honda Ya Japanese Restaurant

Honda Ya Japanese Restaurant
17200 Railroad St
City of Industry, CA 91748
(626) 964-6777

It was my dear friend Sybil's birthday. She chose Honda-Ya as the place to have her birthday dinner. Our reservation was at 7:30pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant wasn't as busy as I thought it would be. At first we were seated at a table that was obviously way too small for 12 people (it could only sit 8 so I don't know why they gave us that table). We made a request to change to a bigger table, and they put several tables together in the tatami room for us. It was better that way because we felt almost like we had our private room. We ordered SO MUCH food. I wasn't able to get pictures for all the dishes (I think I only got maybe 1/5 of it, and the pictures were mostly blurry.... Damn alcohol!). But the night was more about friends than about food.

Cucumber

As soon as we sat down, we ordered a few pitchers of Kirin beer ($13.00/each). The complimentary salted cucumber was actually quite good with beer.

After dinner at Haige Star Boulevard, we all decided to go have boba somewhere to sober up before driving home. First we went to MJ Cafe. The guy who worked at the cafe was standing outside the door. When he saw us walking up to the cafe, he told us that they were going to close in about 10 minutes, and the kitchen was closed. We told him that we only want to get drinks, and he said ok. Maybe because we were all speaking English and he thought we don't speak Chinese? When he went inside the cafe, he spoke to his friend who was waiting for him in Chinese and said, "Shxt! There are like 20 people who want to get drinks now. Fxxk. Shxt." So.... we left. Next stop, Tea Station at the new Four Seasons Plaza. As we were walking up to Tea Station, we saw a place with A LOT of people waiting outside. This place is called Meido Kissaten, and we saw waitress dressed in French Maid outfit at this tea house. It wasn't the slutty kind of costume, but more like the cute kind. The guys in our group were all like "should we go there instead?" haha.... But we didn't want to wait, so Tea Station it is.

熱波霸奶茶 Hot Boba Milk Tea ($6.50)

This Tea Station is EXPENSIVE! A hot boba milk tea is $6.50!!!! So Dr. P and I only ordered one to share. We asked for less sugar, and they made both the tea and the boba really well here. But still, $6.50 is way too expensive.

[City of Industry] [Brazilian] Oba Oba Brazilian Steak House (CLOSED)

Oba Oba Brazilian Steak House

City of Industry, CA 91748

(CLOSED)
