I signed up to be Corner Bakery Cafe's fan on Facebook, and they sent me a coupon to get a free meal as a thank you gift.  That was nice.

Pasta Combo ($7.69)
Your choice of a Cafe Sized Hearty Pasta with Caesar Salad or Mixed Greens

I've had their salad and sandwiches before.  This time I want to try something different, and ordered a pasta combo.  The combo came with garlic bread and Caesar or mixed greens salad.  The oily garlic bread was tasty, but it must have a lot of calories.  Romain lettuce in Caesar salad was really fresh and crisp.  Good salad.

Chicken Carbonara
All-natural roasted chicken, spring peas and linguine pasta in our creamy carbonara sauce, with applewood smoked bacon and toasted bread crumbs

Chicken Carbonara was my choice of pasta.  The chicken was very soft.  How did they make chicken breast that soft?  The sauce was rich and delicious.  I thought portion was small at first, but since the pasta was very rich, it turned out to be the perfect amount.

It was a good lunch.  It was even better because it was free!

  1. The key to roasting soft and juicy chicken breast is a lot of butter. I saw it on food network and tried it at home one time and it impressed my husband. You roast the breasts with skin on with chunks of butter in between the meat and skin, at high temperature. I'm skeptical about it though, because the whole point for me to eat white meat is to be healthier. If I were to use that much butter, why don't I just use dark meat?

I'll try the butter method next time,
or just cook dark meant like you said. haha...
