Dr. P's brother and his girlfriend Lucine came to visit.  Lucine is vegetarian.  We thought she would love Native Foods and took her there for dinner.  Yup, she loved it!

Verdi's Roasted Veggie Pizza ($7.95)
Creamy homemade Native Ricotta and pesto, roasted fennel, pear tomatoes, red and yellow peppers, sweet red onions, and garlic cloves drizzled with balsamic glaze.

Lucine ordered Verdi's Roasted Veggie Pizza.  We sat outside on the patio.  It was dark so the picture didn't turn out that well.  My photo doesn't do justice of how delicious this pizza was.  The crust was soft and bread-like, and spread with creamy pesto and vegan cheese.  The roasted veggies were so flavorful.  I had a bite, and decided I want to order this pizza next time I go to Native Foods.

Portobello and Sausage Burger ($9.95)
Juicy grilled portobellos, our homemade Native Sausage Seitan, caramelized onions, pomodoro, sweet roasted garlic, creamy pumpkin seed pesto and mayo.

Portobellow and Sausage Burger was the special of the day.  You get a free side when you order the special of the day.  Dr. P's brother ordered it.  He finished the whole thing in like 5 minutes.  Potato Fries is always delicious.

En"Cha-Cha"Lada Bowl ($8.95)
Stacked corn tortillas layered with black beans, steamed kale and a light saute of tofu, mushrooms, corn and shallots. Garnished with homemade enchilada sauce, ranch drizzle and guacamole, and topped with a sweet pepper popper.

Dr. P ordered En"Cha-Cha"Lada Bowl.  We both liked this one a lot.  So much veggies, and so yummy.  I thought this dish was like a Mexican lasagna.  Tortillas were like pasta, with veggies and cheese between the layers.  The sweet pepper popper was stuffed with gooey vegan cheese.  What is vegan cheese made of?  It tasted just like real cheese and so good.

Hollywood Bowl ($8.95)
Ginger-marinated seared tofu spears over brown rice, steamed veggies, and kale with roasted peanuts and our tangy lemongrass peanut sauce.

I ordered Hollywood bowl.  I enjoyed the tofu spear a lot.  The fresh veggies were good, too.  But I didn't really like the peanut sauce.  It was on the sweeter side.  Also they don't give you too much of it so the bowl lacked flavor.  It was like eating plain steamed veggies over plain steamed rice.  I like Dr. P's bowl much better.

Roasted Zucchini Soup ($1.95)

I also ordered a cup of Roasted Zucchini Soup.  We had this soup last time, too.  I really like how their soup always has just a hint of spiciness for that extra kick.

It was a very healthy and delicious dinner at Native Foods.  We're so lucky to live only minutes away from this place.
