Oh No! Not Again....

Oops they did it again!

Teddy and Twinkle chewed up my laptop's power cord AGAIN!!

I just ordered my 3rd power cord.... :-(

Since all my pictures are in my laptop and I can't turn it on, I can't update my blog... boohoo~~~~

Hopefully the new power cord will be here within the next few days.

  1. Would it be safe to leave the powercord outside? I am afraid that they will get shocked by electricity...

I always unplug everything when I'm not using it.
They won't chew the cords when I'm around.
It's only when they are at home by themselves that they'll do bad stuff like that. haha...
I didn't even know they chewed up the power cord again.
I plugged it into the outlet, picked it up to plug the other end to my computer, and the wire was BURNING HOT.
I dropped it on the ground and saw smoke coming out.
Quickly unplugged it and saw that it was chewed up.
Then my finger was numb for the rest of the morning.
I think I was the one who got electrocuted. haha...

  2. My sister and her boyfriend are constantly buying wires/cords/any type of connectors because their two cats chew them up too. I think they can relate to your frustration, because the dogs/cats are so darn cute you can't punish them.

They also chew up the power cord of our heater.
And the cord is connected to the heater unit and cannot be replaced.
Time to get a new heater.... (sign)
But then I look at their innocent and cute faces, just couldn't get mad at them.
I can only blame myself for not putting things away properly.

  3. Aww, come back soon! I need a new laptop charger too... my bird has chewed holes into my wires. LOL. Such mischievous pets, and yet we still love them 'cause they're cute ^_^;

haha your bird? You let your bird fly around the house?
That's so cute! I always like birds, and really want one too (I want to chinchilla also).
But I'm not sure if Teddy & Twinkle will see the bird as their food.
So maybe I'll put that idea aside for now.

  4. You should order extra cords just in case. ;)

That was exactly what Dr. P said! :-)

  5. Hi Eileen,

It's being a long time not come in and say "Hi" to you.

Based on my experience, you know what? Maybe you might try these.

    * "Tape" all cords thoroughly,or fixed them on the wall and covered by tape or tubes. Even more you can add some smell, such as green oil, mint or peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil,or even chili oil, etc. These "flavors" suppose to keep them away.

*Probably they need some teether like babies too, such as treaty bones or some dog toys sold in pet shops.

When my cat was a kitten, he bit cords around, let me so headache and worried that he might get electric shock. Although some people suggest just let them and once they got shock, they'll learn. However, I could not bear this kind of cruelty. So I did my best effort then and as time passed by he no longer did that anymore.

    Wish you good luck!

I'll try the taping to the wall method.
They have TONS of chew toys, soft, hard, you name it they have it.
But they still want to chew cords, socks, slippers, and stuff that they know they're not suppose to chew on when we're not home.
