We went back to Black Angus for their $38 for two special. We went on the day after Thanksgiving, and the restaurant was quite empty. I think some employees went on vacation, too. The bartender was also working as the host.
Jumbo Prawn Cocktail ($9.99)
Served whilled with our House-made Atomic Horseradish cocktail sauce.
Last time we ordered the appetizer sampler, and there were a lot of fried food. We decided to go light this time, and ordered Jumbo Prawn Cocktail. The shrimp was fresh, and the cocktail sauce was yummy. But there were only 6 shrimps. The sampler had 4 shrimps, plus bunch of other food! So value wise, this would not be a smart choice.
Caesar Salad
Each person can order 2 side items, such as soup, salad, or sides. Dr. P ordered Caesar salad.
Wedge Salad
with bleu cheese dressing
I got the Wedge Salad. Love the bleu cheese dressing and crumble bleu cheese. I know a lot of people don't like bleu cheese, but Dr. P and I both love it. The stinkier the better!
8 oz Prime Rib with Garlic Mashed Potatoes ($17.99)
We both ordered prime rib. Well, the prime rib wasn't very good on that day. It tasted a little dry and overcooked. But the meat was pink, and seemed like it was cooked medium just like we ordered.
8 oz Prime Rib with Loaded Baked Potato ($17.99)
Our conclusion was that maybe the restaurant as empty that day, so the prime rib had been kept warm sitting in the oven all day long? But I still love my baked potato.
Coffee ($2.50)
Dr. P ordered a cup of coffee to go with dessert. This was just a cup of very ordinary coffee. The waitress never came back to refill our coffee though.
Sky-High Mud Pie ($4.99)
The Sky-High Mud Pie was jst as good as last time. Love the coffee ice cream.
Our experience this time wasn't as good as last time. Food was better last time, so was the service. So we thought it is best to go to Black Angus when they are busy. Strangely, when they are busy, everything is better.
