I remember reading about China Garden's late night special on Yelp.  I didn't get http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com until 9pm on Tuesday after a long day of school.  Dr. P and I thought we could go to China Garden for late night dinner, and would have some leftover Chinese food for lunch the next day.  We got there around 9:30pm, and found out late night special is after 10pm.  Oopsy!  I remember the time wrong.  We were too hungry to wait for another 30 minutes for it, and just ordered from their regular menu.

Their late night special menu is the same as their lunch special menu.  You get the same lunch special price, but not the soup and rice.  Rice is $1/person.  We decide to order a fried rice and one dish.  That should be enough for two of us.

明爐火鴉-半隻 Roasted Duck-Half ($6.48)

They were having 50% off special on a few BBQ items.  We picked Half Roasted Duck.  The duck was meaty and tasty.  I especially like the crispy duck skin.

海鮮炒飯 Seafood Combination Fried Rice ($9.95)

Dr. P wanted Seafood Fried Rice, but didn't find it on the menu.  The waiter said they could make it for us though.  There were fish, scallop and shrimp in the rice.  The rice tasted good, especially after adding a little bit of their house hot chili sauce.  I had two bowls, and Dr. P had four.  It was that good!  And we still had leftover to take http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com.  Portion was very generous.

西米露 Dessert Soup

After the meal, the waiter brought us two bowls of complimentary dessert soup.  It was sweet bean soup (?) with tapioca.

China Garden was pretty good.  We'd like to come back to try their dim sum some day.  And next time we want some late night Chinese food after 10pm, we know where to go.

  1. I wanted to try this place again (have been here years before) a few months ago but they were completely full for dinner at 6! So early. Good thing they don't charge much for the Fried Rice. So many restaurants that are similar to China Garden make fried rice cost at least 5 dollars more. Expensive!

When the waiter told us the seafood fried rice is not on the menu,
and they can make it for us, my first thought was that it will be very expensive.
So we made sure to ask him for the price before placing the order.
We were really surprised that it was under $10.
And we got a lot of shrimp, scallop, and fish. The price was very reasonable.
