We just had spicy hot pot at Wen's house.  Two days later, Dr. P was craving for spicy Chinese food again.  So we went back to Chong Qing Mei Wei.  Seriously, we go there like once a week now.

風味冷菜 Cold Appetizer ($5.50)

As always, we started with the three items Cold Appetizer.  Dr. P picked spicy beef & tendon, green snow vegetable, and I picked bamboo shoot.  All were really good.

重慶小火鍋 Chong Qing Hot Pot ($14.99)

This time we wanted to try two new dishes.  Chong Qing Hot Pot had a lot of food in the spicy soup.  Beef, intestine, kidney, tofu, cabbage, bamboo shoot, bean sprout, and thick glass noodle.  We ate the food with rice.  The soup was a bit too spicy for my taste.  But I added water to the leftover, and the diluted soup was really tasty.  I like the hot pot a lot.  Of course it wasn't as good as the hot pot we had over the weekend, but I have an alternative now if I get spicy hot pot craving.

粉蒸排骨 Steamed Pork Spare Rib with Rice Crumb ($8.99)

Steamed Pork Spare Rib with Rice Crumb was very different than what I imagined it would be.  I was expecting more like the Taiwanese style that I am used to.  But this dish tasted completely different than the Taiwanese version.  I don't really know how to describe the taste though.  It just tasted like steamed pork spare rib.  The meat was tender.  The taste wasn't too bad.  I thought it was alright.  But Dr. P hated it.  He took a bite, and refused to eat it after that.  He said the taste was just too strange for him.

Every time we go to Chong Qing Mei Wei, we always have enough leftover for the next 3 days.  We'll be back soon!
