Ever since Habit Burger opened near our house, Dr. P doesn't go to In-N- Out anymore.
Santa Barbara style Charburger Meal ($8.70)
Dr. P ordered a secret menu item: Santa Barbara style Charburger. The double patties burger was made with grilled sourdough bread, Swiss cheeses, grilled onion and guacamole. It tasted so good, but probably has 4,000 calories or something like that.

My Hubby's Meals
I like cooking. Cooking for myself is fun, and cooking for others brings me even more joy. I cook for my husband everyday, not that I have to, but I want to. A few of my coworkers said to me, "Why do you do that? What is wrong with you? Why don't you just eat out like 'NORMAL' people do? It's cheaper eating out and save time." I can't believe that is what people think! (Or is that just how Orange County Asian women think?) Cooking at home is not only way cheaper than eating out, it is also healthier and save more time.
Dr. P and I love going out to eat. But we enjoy cooking at home just as much. Now because of our busy work schedule, we cook at home most weekdays, and go out for dinner on weekends. On a weekday, I make breakfast in the morning, and also pack lunch for both Dr. P and I. If I know Dr. P has to work late for the day, I'll prepare dinner and pack it for him in the morning as well. Otherwise, I'll make a quick meal after I get home from work. Our weekday meals are always easy and fast to make. I like to limit cooking time to about 30 minutes.
Here are Dr. P's one day meals:
Breakfast
A simple pan fried egg, Trader Joe's potatoes, donut peach from my parents backyard, and leftover bread from CPK. Simple, filling, and yummy. Probably took me 10 minutes to make this plate.

[Cook] Banana Bread Muffins
I think I am getting better and better at baking. This banana bread muffins turned to be perfect! I had one when it was still warm. The crust was slightly crunchy. When it cooled, the outer layer became soft and moist. It was still really good. I brought some to work, and co-workers have requested that I make it again soon. :-)

1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda

[Cook] Chicken Noodle Soup
I love Costco's rotisserie chicken. We often eat 1/2 chicken on the day we buy it. Then I'll cut the meat off the bones, and use it to make fried rice, tacos, stir-fried dishes, scrambled eggs... etc. There are so many things you can do with cooked rotisserie chicken! And do not throw the bones away! I always use the bones to make chicken soup. The soup is easy, fast, nutritious, and tastes good. One night I made chicken noodle soup with leftover bones in 20 minutes.

We rested at home and let the food digest a bit before we head out to our next stop: Tokyo Table for happy hour.
Happy hour menu is different than last time I was there... which was almost 3 years ago? It's been awhile. haha...

Food tour stop #4! Sister wants burger. The choices were Habit Burger or Deemer's. Sister picked Deemer's.
Napa Burger w/ Garlic Fries ($8.95)
Fresh goat cheese, tomato, red onion, baby spinach, basil pesto aioli.
I recommended her to try my favorite burger, Napa burger. We added $1.20 to order a side of Garlic Fries. The fries smelt really good, but it was way way way too oily.

Next stop was Chick-Fil-A. My sister tried their spicy chicken sandwich, and thought it was just alright. But it was my favorite! After that, we stopped by at Z Pizza because sister was craving for cheese.
Greek Pizza
feta, mozzarella, red onions, Greek olives, fresh rounds of tomatoes, oregano
She ordered a slice of Greek Pizza from the heated display case, and concluded it was a waste of money. The pizza probably had been sitting there for quite a while. It was a bit dry, and didn't taste fresh. Oh well.
