[Arcadia] [American] The Cheesecake Factory

I like Cheesecake Factory.  I can't believe I've never blogged about it though.  In fact, Dr. P and I had our first date at The Cheesecake Factory.  We went to Westfield Santa Anita Shopping Centre to do a little shopping on Saturday and had lunch at the Arcadia location.  The first thing we noticed was that there was no line!  No matter what day/time, there's always a line at the Pasadena location (which I go most of the time).  Second thing we noticed was that most of the staffs at this location are Asians.  75% of the population in Arcadia are Asians now I think.  When I went to Arcadia High (sadly it was like 15 years ago), there were only about 30% Asians.

The Ritz ($12.00) / Passion Fruit Mojito ($8.95)

Both of us were in a drinking mood.  Dr. P got The Ritz (Courvoisier, Champagne, Cointreau and Pomegranate Juice; Shaken, Chilled and Served Up) and I got the Passion Fruit Mojito (Captain Morgan Rum and Passion Fruit; Topped with Cruzan Single Barrel Estate Rum).  The Ritz was one STRONG drink.  I really like my Passion Fruit Mojito.  It was even more fun walking around the mall half buzzed.

Bread

Cheesecake Factory offers two kinds of bread.  One whole wheat and one sourdough.  I like the whole wheat one because it's sweet.  There was a big group of Chinese older ladies with a few kids sitting next to us.  All the ladies ordered coffee.  They ordered one cheesecake for the 5 kids to share.  And everybody just ate the free bread for their meal.  Seriously, all the adults and kids had the whole stick of baguette in their hands.  That's all they ate!  Pay $3 for coffee (with unlimited refill) and you also get unlimited free bread.  I guess us Asians really know about bargain!

Chopped Salad ($9.50)

A Delicious Blend of Chopped Romaine Lettuce, Grilled Chicken, Tomato, Avocado, Corn, Bacon, Blue Cheese, Apple and our House Vinaigrette.  We love this salad.  It had everything I like.... avocado, corn, blue cheese, apple.... Yum!  Their house vinaigrette was delicious.  It was tangy and sweet.

Bistro Shrimp Pasta ($16.95)

Crispy Battered Shrimp, Fresh Mushrooms, Fresh Tomato and Arugula Tossed with Spaghettini and a Delicious Basil-Garlic-Lemon Cream Sauce.  This is my favorite dish at Cheesecake Factory.  The battered fried shrimp was so good.  I love the creamy sauce too.  Dr. P thought the dish was a bit heavy for his taste, but I just love it.

Kahlua Cocoa Coffee Cheesecake ($6.95)

Of course we had to order a cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory.  I picked the Kahlua Cocoa Coffee Cheesecake.  Layers of Rich Brownie, Kahlua Cheesecake, Creamy Chocolate Mousse and Chocolate Ganache.  This cheesecake was good, but it got too heavy after awhile.  I really like the Kahlua cheesecake part.  But the chocolate part was too sweet.

Certified Organic Coffee

Dr. P ordered coffee to go with the cheesecake.  I just noticed NOW that they forgot to charge us for the coffee.  Oopsy!

That was one good lunch.  We walked around the mall afterward and I was totally buzzed.... from both the food and the alcohol.  Good time!

  1. Ironically, I like their cheesecake sold via Costco since it doesn't have any extra flavor and it is "harder" (I don't like soft cheesecake). And, yeah, it's much cheaper too :P

By the way, their Chicken Piccata is pretty good :)

  2. Oh yeah forgot one thing: cheesecake and coffee is really a perfect match!

The magic of having coffee with cheesecake is that the bitterness of coffee can refresh your taste buds so that every bite of the cheesecake is a "new" experience. It's kind of like why those perfume stores place a jar of coffee beans next to the fragrances so that you can smell the true scent of the perfumes.

That's why I always think that Starbucks and Cheesecake Factory should have some kind of partnership :P

Thanks, after reading the blogs it's apparent that I'm not the only one that absolutely loves it.
