Potluck Party at Wen's

Wen invited me to the potluck party at her house.  I haven't seen Wen for almost a whole year!  Yeah, I'm a bad friend....  One year is really too long.  So I took Dr. P with me and we drove down to OC.  The drive was far.  But one hour drive and I get to see a friend who I haven't seen for a year, it was totally worth it.  And for the delicious food, double totally worth it!

Popcorn Chicken

Wen's hubby made the most delicious popcorn chicken.  The secret ingredient was garlic.  It was so good that I even requested some for to go.

Pig in a Blanket

I didn't have much time to cook so I made something that's easy and fast to prepare.  I bought some crescent pastry sheet, cut it and wrapped around cocktail sausages, baked at 375 degree for 15 minutes, done!  It made a good appetizer to start the feast.

Salad

Connie made organic salad with sweet sesame dressing.  The addition of mandarin orange made it even more yummy.

California Roll

Charles and Tessa didn't have time to prepare food.  But they bought some really good sushi rolls.  California roll was creamy and yummy.

Spicy Tuna Roll

Dr. P and I love the spicy tuna roll.  The extra green onion was a nice touch.

Stewed Beef

Jacky made stewed beef.  It was great with rice.  We finished a whole big pot of rice because of this stew.  The beef was tender.  And I just love the mushroom in the stew.

BBQ Ribs

Wen's hubby also secretly made BBQ ribs.  We had no idea he was hiding the ribs in the oven.  Well, actually he also forgot about it.  haha....

Fried Vermicelli

Even made fried vermicelli.  Really good fried vermicelli.  We had leftover so everybody got a little ziploc bag for to go.  My parents had the leftover and they love it, too!

Seafood Soup

Eva also made seafood soup. Fresh seafood, tomato, potato and basil.  Dr. P raved about this soup.

Cookie

Homemade cookie from Amy.  Amy said it was the first time she made cookie.  It was a big success!

Green Bean & Boba Sweet Soup

Amy also made green bean soup with boba.  If I wasn't too full, I could have 3 bowls of this.

After dinner, some boys were busy competing Guitar Hero.

And I was busy bugging Wen's hubby for the popcorn chicken recipe.  Those are the spices needed.  I will definately try to make it at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com once I'm done with school and have more time to cook.

What a fun party!  We shell do this again.  Hey, let's go hiking next month, yeah?
