I was somewhat disappointed about the dining options near my school, and thought I would explore around the area a little more for some better choices.  I did a quick search on Yelp, typing in restaurant and the city Walnut.  Cafe Terrace came up as #1 on the list.  I had about 2 hour break between my classes yesterday.  Perfect time to try this sandwich place.



Cafe Terrace is tucked away in a little plaza at the corner.  The cafe is owned by a Korean family, with the mom as the cook, and the son works at the counter.  Both of them are super nice and friendly.  The son, Andrew, introduced himself when I was ordering.  When I was sitting there, I noticed that he knew all the customers' names.  That was pretty amazing.  I gave them 100 points for excellent service!



Chicken Salad Sandwich ($5.69) / Iced Coffee

I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and an iced coffee.  Andrew gave me the coffee for free because it was my first time there.  Too nice!  I like their iced coffee a lot.  It tasted more like an iced latte.  Very good!

At Cafe Terrace, you can make a customized sandwich.  You can choose the meat, type of bread, vegetable topping, and condiments.  I had my chicken salad sandwich with whole wheat bread.  It was a very good sandwich, and big too!  The chicken salad tasted a bit like tuna salad, since they shredded the chicken very fine.  Vegetables were fresh.  Condiment was light, exactly the way I like it.  I really like it.  The only thing was, the sandwich was too big and I could only finish half.  I took the other half http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com, and Dr. P and I had it for breakfast this morning.  Dr. P also liked the sandwich.

I like the food and drink at Cafe Terrace, but what makes this place stands out even more is the service.  Really nice people.  I would definitely come back again soon, and would like to recommend this place to others as well!
