Lunch with family up in San Gabriel Valley. My brother suggested Boiling Point, and I started drooling. Haven't had the stinky tofu hot pot for so long. They opened a new location in Arcadia. My brother has been there a few times, and said it was really good. We got there around 1pm on a Friday, and had to wait for about 20 minutes for seats. It was a hot day, but people didn't care and still wanted hot pot. That shows how good it is.

招牌臭臭鍋 House Special Hot Soup

We had to wait a VERY long time for the waiter to bring the individual hot pot, but it was worth the wait. This is one delicious hot pot! I ordered mine with medium spicy, and it was perfect. Love the intestine, stinky tofu, meat, soup, mushroom, and pretty much everything in the pot.

海鮮豆腐鍋 Seafood & Tofu Hot Soup

Mom ordered Seafood & Tofu Hot Soup. Lots of seafood and vegetable. Mom liked it a lot, and finished the entire pot to the last drop of soup, which was a lot of food!

Green Tea

Since we went at lunch time, we all got a free drink with the hot pot. Iced cold green tea tasted great with spicy hot pot. Each hot pot also came with choice of rice or glass noodle. Remember to get tons of their garlic sauce. It was sooooo good!

Food was delicious at Boiling Point, but service at this Arcadia location sucks! The waitstaff seemed unprofessional and wasn't trained well. They brought us the wrong drinks, forgot to give us rice, we had to ask multiple people multiple times for something, and service was really slow. The Monterey Park location staff was way better. But since this place is still new, hopefully the staff will get better with more experience. I saw on their flyer that there will be one opening in Irvine on Culver in winter 2011. Can't wait!

  1. i agree with the bad service. Last time my family went there during their opening and I believed they were on promotion (drinks and snow ice are buy one get one free. but we have to order the snow ice to go)
before our hotpot came, the waitress brought us our snow ice and just threw it on our table. (we were like....wt???)
then she said : oh? you guys didn't have the hotpot yet, oh well...our policy said that you have to order the ice after you finished your meal...blablabla
then i was like...this is something that you should tell us when we're ordering
    anyways...didn't go back since then

Wow! Your experience there was horrible!
I won't go back either if I was treated that way.

  2. I tried the Boiling point at two locations (Hacienda hts. and newly opened chino hills). Generally I think all boiling point staff are unprofessional and doesn't really care for customer service, but I think they are the only stinky tofu hot pot chain in So cal. so we can only get what we are given haha.

Service at MP location is pretty good the few times we were there.
Yeah, but since they are the only stinky tofu hot pot chain, we don't have other choices.
