Chong Qing Mei Wei Szechwan Restaurant

We haven't had spicy Chinese food for a while, and we were craving it bad. Seriously, those Szechuan pepper must have some kind of addictive ingredient in it or something. We went back to the best Szechuan restaurant in OC, Chong Qing Mei Wei Szechwan Restaurant.
風味冷菜 Cold Appetizer ($5.50)
It was raining outside, and the restaurant was full with a few people waiting. They quickly put us at a 6 people table. We also saw a couple sitting at one of those big 10 people table. I like how they didn't make us wait for a smaller table. Dr. P went to the cold appetizer counter and picked 3 items. Those are our favorite 3, spicy beef & tendon, green veggie, and kidney & onion.
重慶口水雞 Cold Chopped Chicken w/ Spicy Sauce ($8.99)
It was cold outside, so we ordered a cold dish because the picture looked really good on their menu. haha.... Cold Chopped Chicken with Spicy Sauce was good. The chicken tasted sorta like the Chinese wine chicken. The spicy sauce was really good.
水煮牛魚 Boiled Beef and Fish with Hot Sauce ($10.99)
Of course we ordered THE item we always order, Boiled Beef and Fish with Hot Sauce. This dish made me ate 2 bowls of rice.
Service is always very good here. All the waiters are super polite and friendly. Food, of course, is always good. Really like this restaurant!

We have to eat here at least once a week else I get the cravings really bad. The food and service is always great!
ReplyDeleteThis is probably my favorite Chinese restaurant in OC now.
Wow, look at the flaming hotness. Spicy Szechwan food packs a powerful punch.
ReplyDeleteIt actually didn't taste as spicy as it looked.
Spicy Szechwan food is really addicting!
Haha you ordered exactly the same dishes I did when I went to a Szechwan restaurant last week, except that I got some cucumbers and seaweeds for the appetizer instead of the green veggies and kidney. The flavor of the sauce in that chicken dish is so "addicting" and I always wonder what's in it...
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY what I was thinking!
I really wonder what they added to the sauce to make it "addicting" haha....
