Our original Valentine's Day plan was to cook at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com by ourselves. But I ended up drinking a bit too much wine the night before and wasn't feeling too well. So plan changed. We decided to get takeout from Dr. P's current favorite restaurant, The Boiling Crab. We called them around 6pm to place our order. It took us 10 minutes to get through the line. Dr. P went to pick up the order. He said the restaurant side was crazy packed. Take-out side had line going out the door. He had to wait in line for 40 minutes just to pick up the order. For people who place orders right there, they had to wait for another 45 minutes for the food to be ready. Crazy!
Oyster ($7.99/6)
They packed the oyster in an ice tray. It came with horseradish, cocktail sauce, a little bottle of Tabasco, and lemon. The oysters were so fresh. Very tasty! Dr. P said next time he wants to get a dozen!
The Whole Sha-Bang Shrimp ($8.99/lb) / Potatoes ($1.50/3)
We got 1.5 pound of shrimp this time. It was too good! Yum! When we called to order, they said they were out of corn. When Dr. P went to pick up the order, he heard the cashier telling people that they had to order 2 pounds of crawfish to order corn. So we ordered potato with the shrimp. They used new potato, and it wasn't as good as the corn. We didn't like it that much. Dr. P was so mad that we didn't get corn, so he stopped by at the market to buy corn. We boiled the corn ourselves, and mixed it with the sauce. He bought two big ears of corn for $0.80/each. The Boiling Crab sells 1/2 corn for $0.75. The corn we got was sweeter and bigger than Boiling Crab's. It tasted so good! Maybe we'll buy our own corn from now on.
Cajun Hot Wings ($4.99/6)
As usual, we got the Cajun Hot Wings. Their wings are always good.
Sweet Potato Fries ($3.99)
And of course we gotta get the Sweet Potato Fries. So yummy.
Dr. P with his Boiling Crab bib. haha....
That was our delicious Valentine's Day dinner! Yum!
