We went to Sam Woo for dinner on Sunday night, and the place was full with people waiting outside. We didn't want to wait, and just walked around the corner and spotted J.J. Bakery Cafe. Note: This is J.J. Bakery "Cafe", not the same as J.J. Bakery (小雅屋). I mistakenly thought it was J.J. Bakery before. In the front, there is the bakery that sells Asian style bread and pastries. In the back, they have a cafe that serve Taiwanese food.
紅燒牛肉麵 Stew Beef Noodle Soup ($6.99)
Dr. P ordered Stew Beef Noodle Soup. It tasted like http://www.eileenlikestoeat.commade. The beef was a little tough. But it's a pretty decent bowl of beef noodle soup.
冰奶茶 Iced Milk Tea ($1.00)
With order of food, customers can get coffee or tea for $1.00. Dr. P got a cup of Iced Milk Tea with his Beef Noodle Soup.
鐵板黑胡椒雞肉炒飯 Sizzling Plate Black Pepper Chicken Fried Rice ($6.99)
I ordered Sizzling Plate Black Pepper Chicken Fried Rice. But it didn't come on a sizzling plate. What a disappointment! Chicken, onion, and green pepper in the fried rice. It's not bad, but I could easily make a better version at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com. I felt cheated. I want m sizzling plate!
蘿蔔湯 Radish Soup
The rice came with Radish Soup. Nothing special about it.
The food at J.J. Bakery Cafe isn't too bad, but it is definitely overpriced in my opinion. I don't think I like it too much.

I haven't been there yet. Too bad the food isn't that good, I'm a big fan of their breads, cakes, and pastries.

I went to JJ Bakery yesterday, during check out the cashier told me "it $8.60" and I opended my wallet and found out I have no ca$h. But I have credit cards, debit cards and check with me.
ReplyDeleteThe lady, with short hair, got furious and said "I remember you! I told you last time already WE NOT accept credit card less then $10 !" and stared at me.
I told the lady "Sorry" and walk away.
Until now, I still feel very upset to be treated like a school kids facing the school dean after did some mistakes. And the only mistake was without ca$h.
That's horrible service! They can't treat their customers like that.
Thank you for sharing the story. I don't think I'll ever go back again.
