We went back to Kula Revolving Sushi Bar for dinner last night. We got there around 5pm, and there were only a few customers inside. Maybe 10 minutes later, there was a long line of people waiting at the door. I guess people get off work around 5pm and went straight to Kula after. We were so glad we got there right before the rush.
Tuna Nigiri ($2.00)
There were stickers with different colors on the plate. We figure that was to keep track of the time they made the sushi in the slow afternoon. When the restaurant is full, there was no more stickers. We started with Tuna Nigiri. It was great. But is it just me, or the size of the fish got smaller?
Sea Urchin Gunkan Maki ($2.00)
Delicious Sea Urchin Gunkan Maki. Very fresh.
Spicy Crunchy Salmon Roll ($2.00)
Spicy Crunchy Salmon Roll was pretty good. The shrimp wasn't really crunchy though.
Botan Ebi Nigiri ($2.00)
Dr. P loved Botan Ebi Nigiri. I liked it a lot, too. The shrimp was so sweet. The fried shrimp head was great as well.
Tuna Yukke Gunkan Maki ($2.00)
I love Tuna Yukke Gunkan Maki. I think this is my favorite sushi. Super creamy and flavorful.
Sunomono ($2.00)
Besides thin slices of cucumber, Sunomono also had pieces of tamago, octopus, and mackerel.
Eel Nigiri ($2.00)
Eel Nigiri was pretty good, but not too memorable.
Miso Soup ($2.00)
Miso Soup with http://www.eileenlikestoeat.commade tofu.
KULA Yellowtail Roll ($2.00)
KULA Yellowtail Roll had yellowtail on top, and yellowtail inside the roll, too. Dr. P likes yellowtail, and liked this roll a lot.
Spicy Tuna Hand Roll ($2.00)
Spicy Tuna Hand Roll was really really good.
Albacore Nigiri ($2.00)
I really wish they have ponzu sauce with Albacore Nigiri.
Scallop Nigiri ($2.00)
I love the sweetness of fresh Scallop Nigiri.
Sweet Fried Potato ($2.00)
We tried a new dessert, Sweet Fried Potato. Somehow we thought the dessert should be warm, but it was cold. Also I thought it was made with sweet potato, but it was just regular potato. It was fried on the outside, and coated with caramelized sugar. It was good, but I've had better version.
At the end, we had 17 plates of sushi, 1 miso soup, and 1 green tea. 19 x $2.00 = $38.00. Yum!
