We celebrated Dr. P's birthday this year at Scott's Restaurant & Bar. I had a $50 gift certificate for this restaurant from Restaurant.com for a long time. I have been waiting for a special occasions to go to this fancy restaurant.
Scott's Restaurant & Bar used to be called Scott's Seafood. Maybe they decided that they don't want to specialize in seafood anymore and changed the name? The restaurant is across the street from South Coast Plaza. No self parking, and valet parking is about $3.

[Anaheim] [Chinese] Wang Tcheng Restaurant
Wang Tcheng Restaurant
王城

We are back from our honeymoon in Costa Rica! Now that I am officially Mrs. P, it's time to catch up on writing.... ^_^
We went to Anaheim to visit Dr. P's 100-year-old grandma. She doesn't speak English, and I don't speak Korean. But she kept on looking at me, and just smiled. When we were leaving, she held my hands and said something to me in Korean. I didn't understand her, but she made me feel happy. After the visit, we went to grab dinner with Dr. P's family at Wang Tcheng, a Korean style Chinese restaurant.
Dr. P said that his family came to this restaurant for his niece's birthday before, and he thought the food was pretty good. The restaurant has nice decor, but that also reflects on their price.

[Catering] Sam's Taco's

We went to a little girl's birthday party at Pretend City. I never knew there is a place like this for kids. All the kids just went wild, and everyone had so much fun. For us adults, the birthday girl's parents hired a catering company and provided some delish tacos. We love the food so much, and got contact info from the catering company for future reference.
Tacos
There were 3 types of meat available: carne asada (beef), carnitas (pork), and chicken. Everything was prepared to order. Then there were rice and bean in the hot buffet tray, as well as a salsa and condiment bar.

[Irvine] [Japanese] 靜間 Shizuma Ramen
Shizuma Ramen
靜間

Irvine, CA 92604

I found this new ramen shop in Irvine from a coupon booklet we received in the mail. With a $5 off coupon, we went to try this new restaurant.
Even though this restaurant is called Shizuma "Ramen", they only have 6 different ramens on the menu. They also have a few rice bowls, curry, katsu, and hand rolls.

After Dr. P came back from his trip to Utah, he told me one of the restaurants he was craving for was Stonefire Grill. I have been telling Dr. P about their Tri Tip BBQ Salad, and he really wanted to try it.
BBQ Chopped Salad (Small) ($7.99)
Choice of BBQ chicken or BBQ trip tip with mixed greens, black beans, roasted corn, carrots, red cabbage, cilantro and jack cheese tossed with tortilla strips and buttermilk ranch dressing and topped with tomato and scallions
The BBQ Chopped Salad with tri tip was served in a bowl. The salad was tossed with ranch dressing, not too heavy, just the right amount. All the vegetable was fresh. Dr. P liked the roasted corn a lot. The tri tip was fantastic as always. However, I thought my previous to-go orders had a lot more meat than the dine-in one. The two of us only managed to finished half of the salad.
