Pollo A La Brasa Western

My last day of work, coworker Iris insisted on treating me dinner. I didn't want to pick anything too expensive. And I remember she likes Pollo A La Brasa last time we got it at work. So Pollo A La Brasa it is.
The original plan was that I would call ahead to order, we would arrive at the place 15 minutes later, Iris would jump out of the car to grab it, and back to the office in no time. But the plan didn't work. I did called ahead to place an order for a whole chicken. I told them I would be there in 10 minutes to pick it up (even giving them 5 extra minutes to get the order ready). We got there, Iris went in, came back and said the food wouldn't be ready for another 15 minutes. Since there was no parking, I had to circle around the block for a few times. Then I got tired so I parked at some small street and told Iris to call me when she got the food. I waited... for 30 minutes!!!!
Whole Roasted Chicken (US$16.00)
So I wasn't happy about the long wait. But as soon as I saw the chicken, I decided to let my anger go. The price of a whole chicken had gone up to $16 from $15. The chicken was the best rotisserie chicken ever! It was so juicy and full of smoked flavor.
Salad
The two sides that we picked were salad and fries. The other two choices are rice and beans. The salad was DELICIOUS! It had fresh crispy lettuce, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, and sweet red pepper. 2 special ingredients: beet and avocado! Not just a few slices of avocado, but one WHOLE avocado that required a little self peeling and slicing. Major yum!
Fries
The fries were crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Love them!
Aji Sauce
And don't forget the super spicy Peruvian aji sauce. I love dipping my fries with it.
I absolutely love the food here, but hate the wait and the parking situation. I guess calling ahead doesn't really work at this restaurant. Oh well, for the delicious food, I guess I could forgive them.

I love Peruvian food. Have you ever been to El Pollo Inka in the South Bay? I used to go there for lunch often. Great lunch specials there!

Peruvian chicken is yummy!
Hi Eileen - If you love this, you'll be in heaven in Lima. There's a Pollo ala Brassa stand on every corner. And they make their papas fritas with Papas amarillas, a type of yellow potato that is really, really good.
